HD 2600XT 5.1 Audio problem with Vista

Thread Starter
I was using my HD 2600XT with the HDMI dongle and I could get a 5.1 output from my 2600XT and now, I installed Vista and everything works #1 but I can't get 5.1 output to work... Did someone encoutered this problem before and if so, is there a solution for it? I installed the latest drivers, but the driver for the sound card on the 2600 seems to be a microsoft driver. I tried searching ati's web site and I could't find anything... I would really appreciate if someone could help me on this.

Thanks

I have the exact same problem.. My card is Sappire Radeon HD 2600XT. 2.0 audio work just fine, but no mather what i do, i cant get DD5.1 og DTS.

I have set HDMI Digital sound as default, but theres still no 5.1. Someone told me to set Powerdvd & MCE to SPDIF Passthrough, but where do i do that? cant seem to find that option anywhere..
