Do all Gamecube games work on the wii?

Yeah, they should.

There are very rare ones that don't, but nothing that you are likely to come across in the wild.

The only limitation I know of is that you need a GC controller to play GC games. As far as I've ever been aware, the North American Wii is compatible with all GC games for the North American market.

You could run into region-lock issues, but those games wouldn't be compatible with your GC either. You may also run into some unusual peripheral compatibility issues, but you won't run into issues with the games themselves. Certain regions (Europe, I think) also have much more limited backwards compatibility with GC games (for copyright reasons, I believe). And, of course, any "unofficial" GC releases won't work on your Wii.

Otherwise, they should all work with no issues whatsoever (unless you're in a BC-limited region ).

Don't forget you'll also need a Gamecube memory card.

The only problem I have is playing animal crossing. if you play it on gamecube and wii, the internal clocks are different formats and you constantly have to change the time.

still works though.

That sucks becuase I have Animal Crossing and still unopened and never played it so if I do decide to play it that would be annoying. Unless you're saying it only happens when switching between using GC and Wii, but I doubt you are saying that.

That seems to be exactly what he's saying.

If that is what he is saying though, why would anyone be using it between a GC and Wii anyway?

I have a Wii in the living room and a Gamecube in the bedroom. Sounds like I can easily switch which console I'm playing on. In fact, I have played Zelda Four Swords on both.
