Hmm impressive

Alan looks just like it did at the Empire Leicester Square on the biggest THX screen in the UK back around (Wednesday February 8th 1995) the film was played in dts 35mm of course and if I remember I sat at the very front, front and centre and the scope image was eye-popping with dazzling visual effects and 13KW THX chest tummy rumbling soundtrack to boot.
The Foley effects where killer sonic smack crunch and wallop (Jean-Claude "The Muscles from Brussels" Van) does the splits, then later tossing that guy though the door headfirst LOL. For that door to break apart like that, must have had a bad case of wood mites!

I saw the film a second time around at the local cinema ABC screen 1 Westover road Bournemouth, it was fun still only played back in Dolby stereo as the cinema only had Phillips DP70 projector with Dolby CP200 and no Dolby SR-D at the time much less dts or SDDS8. The sound was played over the same loudspeakers JBL 4675-A THX as the Empire, but sonic impact was lost even over the LCR fronts. Sure it had bass but no where as near as what the Empire can put in your face!
I later brought the THX first edition laserdisc, this was before dts cropped up on laserdisc. I still have the laserdisc and later brought a region 2 DVD so I can listen to discrete six-track Dolby stereo digital and the time travel sled car rocket thing, wow! But not as trilling as the Empire WOOOOOOOW!

Oh, yeah that was thilling action film of the year by Directed (Peter 2010 Hyams).
Merry Christmas
