I was more than a little concerned getting this player with all the negative comments (like this thread), and I am happy to find that most of the problems were overstated. At least for my player, in my setup with the November code.
But the thread
is titled "Movies BD-UP5000 will not play", when in fact it will play at least some of them (and all that I own) at least into the opening credits. Now, perhaps there are some odd issues, but they DO play, so I'm probably not the only one who could have phrased things better.
Please don't apologize by writing your comment off as being 'blunt', and then point out that the thread is at fault.
Explain to us how the title of the thread

I've got a 5 year old who tries to use the "he did it too" defense. Please be bigger than that sir.
Here is why. I doubt many of us have more than a single BD-UP5000 to test with, we each have our own
individual reality.
The creator of this thread gave it a simple and accurate title. Is it correct for each person? Apparently not, but it brings to light many playback issues with the Samsung.
Does this make the poster stating that his given list of movies that did not play wrong? Not if they 'did not play' for
him . As a point in fact, for those with DVDs that do not play in their players, this thread is aptly titled.
A posting simply stating;
"I had no problems playing these titles"
...or something to the effect of
"they all play fine for me, could there be something you can check in your settings?"
would be what most polite individuals posting in this forum.
It is certainly more civil than "
bull*hit?", which was not so much "blunt" as it is rude and disrespectful.
