Newbie question

I just purchased my first LCD and also bought a Toshiba HD Dvd player I want to get a Home Theater in a BOx but all comes with a dvd player with it.Whitch I dont need must I use the one that comes with the HTIB or can I just give that one away and use my Toshiba.Any recomendation for a good system entry level would be great. Thanks

Price range?

Many of the HTIB that come with fullsized receivers don't have DVD players. Brands like Onkyo, Yamaha, and Denon, for instance.

Like Tulpa said, there are a bunch of HTiB's that do not come with a DVD player; however if you end up choosing one with an included DVD player it's not going to be better than the HD player you just bought so you can always just ebay the SD-DVD player.

Not exactly. I may confused you a bit. Some HTIB's have their own standalone receiver (Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha etc) and your components will connect to that receiver.

My first reply was only addressing your question about the included DVD player.

So when shopping around i need to look for a system that has its own standalone reciever correct??
