Transformers problem after Xbox update

When I purchased the Transformers HD-DVD, it played fine and beautifully on my Xbox 360 HD-DVD add on drive. I haev watched it for almost four to five times already.

Yesterday when I had some friends over, I wanted to show them Transformers. When I inserted the disc, it prompted me for an update. I agreed to the update as per normal. The update took only a few seconds.

Now two problems appeared:

1. They now announce to me that web-contents cannot work and to play without web content. Thats fine by me.

2. Now the movie freezes mid-way through the movie and refuses to continue playing.

Anyone have any ideas what the heck the update was all about and how to solve the problem? Yesterday was 19 Dec 2007.

I got the update, but have only watched Stardust since. Is there a particular point it freezes? If so I can try to check tonight if no one else chimes in.

Actually the update was supposed to fix problem discs including Transformers:

It started at the part when Sam was talking to his dad at the back door at night after meeting with optimus Prime before going up to search for his his great grandfather's glasses. It was playing then froze every 1-2 seconds and completely locked up when Sam was entering the house. When I press the Menu button on the remote it restarted the HD-DVD player and gave me the warning about not being able to play web content.

I stopped play, ejected the disc and put it back again. Again it froze at roughly the same point.

I popped in my Transformers disc after I had already gotten the update from putting in Stardust.

I got the same error message when downloading the web update, but didn't watch the movie all the way through to check for playback issues. I just wanted to get the new Optimus Prime menu skin.

So I just cleared the Transformers cookie from the persistent memory and re-downloaded the cookie. worked great. I think the cookie may get corrupted when Microsoft does these HD DVD player code patches. (just my guess)

did you try deleting your Transformers cookie and re-booting the disc?

How do you delete all the cookies? It's probably better to just delete all HD DVD related cookies before installing the update, or am I wrong?

Didn't fix Relentless Enemies.

I tried deleting the cookies and tried again, yes the problem seems to have gone. Thanks guys....wish I had the same type of fix for my Samsung Blu-ray player going blank in the middle of the movie.

Yeah, I hate that the cookies cuase problems with some titles. But there's nothing I absolutely NEED in there anyway. SO anytime I have a problem, i just delete all content from the HD-DVD add-on. Some are cookies, and some are features (Like film extras from Transformers). But again, if you don't need them, just get rid of them.

We never claimed it would.
