Epik Castle.. Much better than my Velodyne??

I now have a Velodyne HGS THX Ultra 15 inch sub...Is the Epik castle going to be a big step up in performance? By looking at ehe Craigsub list it should be better...it out performs a DD-18 Which my guess would blow my HGS away...I have a friend that wants my sub for 800.00 and it will only be 3 bills to upgrade...This will be 100 % home theater use...Thanks...Al

Hello,

I have had the HGS15, HGS18, DD15 and several DD18s. I now have the Conquest. Craigs perforrmance review brings the Castle very close to the Conquest. I would reccomennd you buy the Castle. It will be a night and day difference compared to the HGS15 not even close IMHO. Especially since you have a buyer to sell the old to. Just my two cents.

^^^ If you have tried all of them and now have the Epik I am sure you are right and I trust your opinion Thanks...Do you think it is worth the extra 100 to upgrade to the Tower???

If this is for H/T - I'd go with the Tower. It is tuned lower - but that's just me. I suggest you contact Chad or Dale over at Epik - tell them what you want, what you're coming from, and what your room layout is. Being an Internet Direct supplier who's only advertising is word of mouth here an on other forums, - they'll make sure you get a sub to fit YOUR requirements - which may be the Castle or the Tower or even the Caliber!

Good luck, - let us know your impressions if/when you purchase one.

I just got my Castle in today and I'm extremely happy with it. I posted a few pics over on the Official Epik thread if you're interested in seeing it.
