Issue with Infocus SP777, Please help!

Hello,
I have a client with an Infocus SP777. They are having an issue in which the unit requires the power plug to be taken out (not so easy at ~20ft high) to get the unit to begin responding again. The client has isolated the issue down to it does it whenever the power on command is sent more then once in a short period. This of course is not something that is impossible to work around but both of us feel this should not be the way things work! I have tried infocus tshooting and they are honestly less then worthless IMO.

Does anyone have any idea on this one? Is it something that needs service? Firmware? We ordered this for a special situation requiring a moderate projector budget with a ton of light output and a very long throw distance. I haven't sold infocus on a regular basis in years and before their troubleshooting was very good, today not so much it appears. I am going to try email to circumvent getting sent to some other country for troubleshooting.

Mine does not behave that way. Sounds like a bad board to me. At the least flash FW to see if it cures it.

I have not seen this behavior either. The current FW seems to be v 2.9 and is dated 2006. http://www.infocus.com/service/sp777...site_region=1&

Reloading the FW might help.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it.
The unit is less then two months old so I would be surprised if its just a firmware update. Its been so long I need to look up the firmware updating here again soon.

my old IF7200 (which just died) repeatedly did that through many firmware updates. none fixed it.
Required regular climb up & unplug to force a "reboot" before it would come alive again.
sounds like a processor bug....was considering the IN82 as a replacement but now not so sure.....bough 7200 when it was the rage & Bob Williams was here.....snds like things have changed at IF?
now need similar pj to match with old firehawk.

i know places were giving away the 7205's recently as low as $1000. take a look in the under $3k forum, still might be some floating around.
