hd160xt issue with zini

Howdy-

I've been using the hd160xt (rev1.x) for almost 1 year now. For the last year I've been using the zini program that was supplied with the case. I like it does what I want and looks good on the touch screen. But unfortunately I could not get the touch screen to respond to touch. But I could work the program with the mouse so it wasn't too bad.

I've recently learned of the update to the digitouch driver and now have the screen responding to touch and properly calibrated. But now the zini program will no longer work. when it tries to load it says it is unable to find the m.play device. I reinstalled the program when I reinstalled the digitouch drivers. I have since tried to uninstall and reinstall the zini program, I even tried earlier versions of the zini programs or at least other copies of the program that come bundled with earlier digitouch drivers.

I would like to be able to get the zini program to work or at least a decent replacement program to run on the touch screen that has the same or similar features as the zini program.

hd160xt ver 1.x
digitouch 5.1.4
xp pro
intel core duo 2.4ghz
2gb ram
nvidia geforce 8800gtx
nForce 680i sli mainboard

I have the same case and have had a similar problem. The only way I found around this problem was to disable UAC in Vista (if that's what you're using for OS) and doing a clean install as an administrator. Hope this works for you.

Disabling UAC and reinstalling M.Zini worked for me except that Vista-32 is unable to sleep automatically. Manual sleeping by clicking on the sleep button works fine. But in order to get Vista-32 to go to into auto-sleep, I had to disable Zini. That means the remote control no longer works.

I tried the non-donator version of Daniel Rolf's M.Zini replacement software but it could not detect the port.

Anyone able to solve this problem? Thanx.
