Ok guys and gals. Just bought this today because it seemed highly recommended by many on this board. This is my first sound system ever. I recently got a Sony 52W3000 and figured might as well get a good sound system. Anywho, I am going to be hooking up my Xbox 360 with HD-DVD player. Also the sound out of the TV obviously. Is there a certain way to do this correctly, note that the Xbox 360 is going to be hooked up via HDMI. Please help I am a big noob when it comes to this.

Use an HDMI cable from the Samsung Reciver HDMI out to your TV. Use an HDMI cable from your XBOX 360 to the Samsung HDMI in.

Run an HDMI cable or Coax from your cable or Sat source to the Samsung HDMI 2 in or coax in..

Set your Xbox to output PCM.

There ya go............

I talked to Samsung and she told me to run the hdmi cable to the tv, then get some audio cables red, white, and hook them to the TV and Reciever. She said I should then have surround sound. She told me the reciever was not meant to display hdmi?

I have an old XB 360 and my AV VGA pack has a digital output slot in it. IF, and only IF your XB HDMI has a digital output slot, then I would hook up the XB to the TV via HDMI and the XB to the receiver via digital output.

That only works if your XB cable has a digital output jack, unless there is some sort of adapter for that?
