WOW, the HD45 is on sale, best price I've seen so far. It's a single unit for $99 where as the HD25 which I have in my setup is for a pair of them.

Anyhow, they sound awesome along with it's brothers Centre Channel, bookshelve's and 150W sub woofer...

So the conclusion here is that PA products are a decent buy for the money, especially when you get 'em on sale at Best Buy?

Has anyone had experience with this 5-speaker set from PA? Seems like a great deal to me. I can't figure out what model the speakers are, though. They don't seem to exist on the manufacturer's website.

$400 off? Sheesh! I have the small bookshelf speakers of that series (the yellow centers) and they sound good. For that price, I think you can't go wrong.

Yeah, I was thinking that they might be a good choice until I can afford better. I just wanted to check that no one had a bad experience with them.

These are OK but they are not the HD series which I recommend.

The link you provided is the PARK classic series which are not magnetic shielded. This series was also a temp version and exclusive for Best Buys.

Do not get confused, they may sound great, but not better than the HD in my opinion. The HD series is the Loud Speaker series.

Ah, I see. In that case, do you think that it's worth getting, say, two of the HD series speakers now (http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...2f89df5a8cen02) and gradually purchasing more as I can afford it?

Yea I was very impressed with the HD series they had, the new ones... not as much. However I never had them in my home and calibrated like I did the others.

If you can get the HD series I would say that they are a steal for the money. As far as compared to the Andrew Jones Pioneers, I have heard and set up both of these. My personal opinion is the PA's left a much more memorable experience... however it has been a long time since I've actually listened to them. The sound was very crisp and clean, thats what I remember the most about them. Mids were decent and with the complete setup I really enjoyed them. However at high volumes, as I stated before, they started to stress and I was afraid of blowing them.

I am glad I made my decision and went with the RF series klipsch.

On a side not, now that I have been lucky enough to own an SVS PC12 Plus, the subwoofer although decent for the price, has nothing on my $1500 monster.

As far as the HD25's are, I had them as rears and they were very good. If thats what you can afford atm then grab them up and move them to surround duty and get the HD45's for fronts, they were definately a level up. And they go on one hell of a sale around boxing day. Like the whole setup for $350.00

Still think Im a marketer Jaball?

That is what I did, just waited patiently until they go on sale. I am currently using the HD25 for my L/R speakers and I have to say they sound great.

Great summery Big Whitey. For the cash, PA is one of the best.
Good luck,

Hi,

I'm a brand new member, and just bought the HD15s 15" Precision Acoustics subwoofer from Best Buy for $299 - what a deal for 15".
At the same time, I also bought 2 x 12" Klipsh sub-12 to do a side by side.

Apples and Bananas!

For HT, the large, long port of the Klipsch 12" absolutely shatters the PA 15" dual really short port to oblivion and beyond. If you want a really mammoth LFE power house, just 1 Klipsh 12" is all you'll need. My room is about 20x20, so a relatively good size open living room.

However, for musicallity, the HD15s does sound cleaner. The Klipsch sub-12 is muddy, so turn the low-pass nearly all the way down, and depend on your surround woofers to make up for gap.

Both model made in china, both target the catfish (bottom feeder) market.

So there you have it.
======================
For Purely LFE = Klipsch Sub-12,
Down firing, long and large rear facing port
freq. resp: 24Hz - 120Hz

For More Musicallity = Precision Acoustics HD15s
Front firing, very short dual small-mid size rear facing ports
freq. resp: 35Hz - 150Hz

Both were $299 on boxing week up in Canada at BB.

I'm keeping just the 1 Klipsch, it's got a 5 year warranty, so I'm refunding the BB 9 year extended warranty, as my CC covers an extra year.
