Hooking up 360 to lap top via DVI to HDMI?

is there a way to do this with this cable? is there a way to do it with any cable?

I hooked up DVI to my G4, then the other end of the hdmi to my xbox but it didnt do anything.

Is there a way to change inputs or something of that sort on the lap top?

Most or all laptops I know of have a video out, but not a video in. so you hooked the DVI out of the G4 to the HDMI out of the Xbox. Gonna go out on a limb here and say this is not possible.

All xbox cables are for output. And I have yet to see a laptop that had built in input for video.

Once again, the basic question asked. Does your laptop have a video input? If so provide the type and we can go from there.

Chances are a generic video capture solution (like Pinnacle's products) will not be OK for the Xbox, unless you're just looking to record video played from the Xbox. There will be a slight delay while the video capture hardware (better) or software (worse) processes the video signal, so what you'd be looking at on screen may have happened a 1/2 second ago in the game - not good for most games.

That Gamebridge that dogmanky posted, as a dedicated solution for $20, seems like it may be your best bet if he thinks it's workable.

I got a tv input card for an old computer once and hooked a Game Cube to it. There was enough of a delay that games were not playable.

Oh no don't get that! I use something just like that to record games I play and its impossible to play watching from the laptop trust me I've tried. There is a huge delay so for example you press a button on your controller and like 2 secs later it does it on the laptop. Unless there is some way around this that I don't know about.
