~$1500 LCD recommendations? (details in first post)

I could use some advice and recommendations for the following scenario:

a) this is my living room set-up for casual viewing (I also have a dedicated FP home theater room)

b) HD sources will be an HD-A3 HD-DVD player and Comcast cable (either straight in or with a Comcast DVR)

c) viewing distance will be approximately 8' and within a narrow cone (i.e. no significant angled viewing)

I'm looking to upgrade from my old 36" Sony CRT to a flat panel hi-def display. It looks like there are a number of 1080p LCDs that may fit my target price range. I'll need good deinterlacing performance for both cable and HD-A3 1080i signals. I am also hoping that a QAM tuner might play okay with my Comcast cable for the network channels (although a second DVR may be in order). I probably won't deploy any external speakers, so decent sound from the display would also be desirable. Light control is pretty decent.

What makes/models should be at the top of my shopping list? Thanks.

Frys has the 40v3000, and 40W3000 currently discounted by several hundred dollars, same with Samsung 4069F, and 4071. Toshiba and Mitsubishi LCD's on sale also. This sale lasts 12/28 thru 1/1/08. Some models are not in stock at all stores.

No Frys anywhere near Ohio

I'd recommend the Samsung LNT4071F. It is available at Amazon for about $1,500. Its a 40" and the 46" is about $1,999 from Amazon as well. For the price it is an awesome display. Truly amazing pictures. And Amazon customer service is amazing on TV's from what I've read.

Thanks guys. I don't have a Frys near me, so it's CC, BB or Costco. As I mentioned, I'm replacing a 36" Sony CRT, so I'll need whoever brings the new one to haul the old boat anchor away. That thing weighs about 240 lbs, so this is not a trivial part of the equation. Circuit City advertises free delivery that includes removal of the old TV. I'm sure the delivery guys aren't thrilled when they see one of these behemoths sitting there. Fortunately, there aren't any stairs....

I've been looking at the 47" Toshiba for about $1700 at CC. I have an employee discount program at work that currently is offering a 7% savings at CC, so that would bring that item down under $1600 (plus tax). I still need to educate myself a bit on the Sonys.

I'm looking at 46" Sonys and I see a "V2500." a "V3000" and a "W3000." There's also a 120 Hz model. The V2500 appears to be in my price range and is identically priced to the Toshiba 47" Regza at one major source. Can anyone tell me what the V2500 lacks relative to the more pricey Sony models? Also, any comments on how it compares to the Tosh unit? Thanks.
