Bee Movie - March 11th - Page 6

For only a few days though. We really have no way of knowing if there's really a profit to be made by releasing it.

It's not the same as Paramount's decision to cancel Blu-ray releases. That was part of their contract/pay-off with Toshiba. This is likely a pure financial decision, although obviously not one that is going to build goodwill towards them.

looks like Best Buy removed Bee Movie from their listing also. It was on there just a few days ago..
Alocal Hollywood Video manager claimed to have seen Bee on schedule for next week.. it's a toss up if it will arrive to the store or not at this point.

My local movie stop confirmed today that they are not releasing Bee Movie on hd-dvd.....bummer
post #155 of 359
this is what i dont understand blockbuster in hamilton ontario shows 2 for sale at 34.99 and futureshop burlington shows 5 at 34.99, but people say it is not coming. what gives
post #156 of 359
Well I just checked Amazon.com and they no longer have it listed. I also saw a commercial for the movie and it only showed as the normal DVD is coming out March 11th.

I checked my order status. Still not canceled, but it doesn't have an item page anymore.

Either they're getting ready to cancel it or they're not taking preorders for it anymore (ie. they've secured a limited amount of the title and that's it). I guess we'll see. The way things are playing out with this one isn't anything like other titles that actually were canceled.

[edit] This is what it looks like:

Call me an optimist in this case, but I think it's still coming.

we got our copies of Bee Movie in today (circuit City) and no HD DVD versions

But we really havent seen any HD DVD's since Toshiba's announcement
post #159 of 359
Retail stores aren't getting it. If it is in fact coming out it's likely relegated to online stores only.

Ditto, my order with Amazon is in the same status.

My amazon delivery change to May5 ??? Anyone get a copy or shipping confirmation from dvdpacific yet?
Deep Discount still lists it for pre-order today. I wonder if they will ship it?
Amazon just took it down, so it looks more likely cancelled everywhere - online & B&M. It'll be interesting to see if some places still get it...
My Amazon order is still showing an arrival date of 3/13.

I hope you get it - it's not like any other HD version is out yet as an option .

Well, it appears they still haven't gotten around to updating the BEE Movie website, but their "buy it" link to Amazon is now dead.

I'm convinced that Deepdiscount will ship it - IF they get it.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt that any stores will get this release at all. I've preordered it myself, so I really hope I'm wrong.
well, maybe it will at least be available in HD Lite on Xbox Live.
I think we should all NOT by the SD dvd version. Seriously, if they are not releasing the HD version yet, then I will wait... I have not bought a SD dvd in 3 years! And I am not going to start now!
Maybe some copies will sneak through to the HV stores. I got Beowulf last week and Into the Wild this week. Getting Bee Movie would just be the icing on the cake.

I've asked numerous HV stores, they've all said no..

I won't buy this in SD. I refuse to buy any movies in SD anymore.....it's just not worth it. You can't tell me these discs aren't already made.....just send them out and make a little money already!!!!
That stinks if they end up cancelling the release. I remember watching the HD trailers from XBLM and they looked great. There is no way I'm watching this movie in SD.

Same with me. I picked up Into the Wild at a HV on Tuesday and asked about future releases. I was told that Bee Movie would not be arriving.

Your delivery change may have nothing to do with this ordeal. If you choose the free shipping option Amazon will put you off sometimes. I bought the 3 superman movies in a B2G1 about two months ago and they put my ship date about a month later even though it listed as shipping next day with one day shipping. Go figure.

I won't either. Especially when SD new releases aren't really much cheaper than HD versions at times. When I got PTOC At World's end in December it was cheaper to buy the BD version than the SD 2-disc version and I know there are a lot more examples than just mine. I don't know if it's me but new release SD releases don't seem to be as cheap as they used to be.
I have not received any cancellation notice from amazon for Bee Movie and the release date is 5 days away. So I think we will see Bee Movie at this point.
Bee Movie HD DVD isn't listed on Amazon anymore though... hmm...
Im sure since they mastered this already in Hi Definition it will be one of the first Paramount Blu Rays, so there is no way im buying the SD version, I'll get it on Blu Ray eventually. Shame though, because with the release date so close you know the HD DVD version already exists.

Bee Movie has been removed from my preorder, but the charge is still there for some odd reason....
