Thin vertical line on LCD tv - Page 4

My Westinghouse 42" TV which I got at BJ's for $650 a couple years ago is showing signs of vertical lines in several places not really related to any burn-in influences AFAIK. I hooked up M$ Paint to the VGA input of the TV. I found for each of the 3 primary colors, if the setting was 230 or higher, the lines were not quite visible; but as I go darker below 230, like 200, 150, 100, the lines become more apparent in each of 3 colors. Where the lines are, it's getting to black several bits ahead of the rest of the screen.

I have a line on the right hand 4:3 border on my Toshiba 32 inch LCD TV.

It appears regularly when I turn on the TV but by pressing on the screen near the top of the line it disappears.

I had a one pixel wide verticle yellow line running down my Sony 52" LCD. I was able to "fix" it by changing my power saving settings to low. I put "fix" in quotes because I have no idea why that worked but it did for me so it 's worth a shot for other people with the same problem.

took me a while to find this... but glad i did... i have the yellow/green/magenta/cyan vertical lines in my (5 year old) Samsung LN40A500t on the right side of the screen. they appear if i turn my TV off then back on... which is making me just leave my TV on all times. I CAN get rid of them by putting pressure on the top of the screen or wiggling the screen softly which is getting harder and harder if i turn my TV off ever. is it worth it to fix the LCD or just replace the TV.

Soma, if you're going to pay someone to fix your tv, IMHO, you would be better served buying a new TV. A new 40" can be found for < $500 and you will spend a minimum of $100 plus parts. You might want to try removing the back cover and checking the ribbon cables to make sure they are seated properly.
I would still buy a new model and move the old one to the deck or spare bedroom.
Good Luck,

That is the exact issue I've now got with my TV set. My TV model is LG 50PV350T. (50")

I have solved the problem by doing the same as yourself; changing the Engery/power setting. Now I'm delighted.smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

I had a 3 year warranty too. It expired on Feb 5, 2014. On March 9, 2014 my TV messed up now has the thins lines down the middle of the screen. Apparently I should have bought the 5 year warranty instead.
