Trying to connect my Macbook to my DLP via an HDMI connector..It's not working.

First off let me say what an great AV forum you have here!

I'm hoping someone can help me out with my HDMI issue.
I want to broadcast a movie from my Mac-book to my JVC DLP.
I've purchased all the necessary adapters and cables to connect my Mac to the female receptacle on my JVC HDTV.

But when I scroll through my various TV Input options there appears to be no connection.
Is this a Mac compatibility problem? Or am i doing something wrong?

Additionally is there a VGA to HDMI adapter available? I might have better luck trying to do this from my PC to my HDTV.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

First make sure that you are trying to send a resolution over the DVI/HDMI interface that your TV's user manual says it will accept over HDMI/DVI. Most HDTV's accept only 480i,480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p or as subset of this list over DVI/HDMI.
Exactly what adapters/cables are you using from the Mac to the TV.
No there is not an adapater between an analog VGA connector/signal and a digital HDMI connector/signal. You would need a VGA to HDMI transcoder which is not inexpensive.
