The LG 32LC7D.. some shady stuff? need opinions

Hey everyone. The day after xmas I purchased two LG 32LC7D flat screen displays. I walked into Best Buy looking for a sony set I saw on Bestbuy.com for 800.00 but was pulled in by the price and look of the LG (749.00).

So.. I have a Sony KDL-32S3000 already set up in my room and I swapped it out for the time being to see the quality of this LG. After installing, I noticed that the blacks were not true to black.. kind of had a redish look to it. My HD quality WAS NOT there.. return of the jedi was on a HD channel and it looked like it was the original version from VHS.. So i play with my menu options and don't see any change.

Now THIS is where it gets shady.. I open up the other LG 32LC7D i purchased and install it in another bedroom, when i open up the menu i see some differences....

FOR example the menu text is more of a old non smooth PC look. And whats called "Picture Mode" in my first LG is called "EZ picture" in the second. now in that mode.. The first LG has a "dynamic" selection but its called "daylight" on the second. Whats called "Auto Tuning" in the first LG is called "EZ scan" in the scond. You guys follow?

BOTTOM LINE: the second LG connected exactly where the first was has WAAAAAY better clarity in HD and on my xbox 360 aswell. So do i return the first LG 32LC7D that I opened in hopes that I will get a LG with the "EZ Picture" mode?

Again these are EXACTLY the same TVs, same box, same model, same look bought on the same day at the same time. BUT one has horrible clarity and different named menu options..

That really bothers me because im seriously considering this tv, it seems to be the best one ive found so far.

im thinking that the first one is an older version of the same model, but how can they get away with calling it the same model then?

Firmware revisions. Suspect the new TV has newer firmware.
