2008 Sugar Bowl on FOX - Hawaii vs. Georgia!

Thread Starter
The 2008 Sugar Bowl on FOX
Hawaii (12-0) vs. Georgia (10-2)
Live from The Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, LA
January 1, 2008
8:30pm ET
720p & DD5.1

The passing of Hawaii QB Colt Brennan is the key to the nation's No. 1 scoring offense. The Dawgs counter with RBs Knowshon Moreno and Thomas Brown, who combined for nearly 2000 rushing yards this season.

Please post all related comments here, and include provider (OTA, Cable, DBS, FiOS, Sunday Ticket), and source (station call letters & city), thanks.

I hope so to!

Georgia should destroy Hawaii tonight. I'm seeing a final score of 42-17 Georgia.

WNYW-DT NYC FOIS TV

Low audio for the National Anthem then back to the loud pre game hosts.

Not up in HD yet in Jacksonville...or its the worst HD pq i've ever seen...

Pregame was in SD on WFTX-DT Cape Coral 36.1 OTA.

The game coverage is now in HD as of 8:30 or so.

Info says 720p and 5.1 audio.

Looks great on KHON Honolulu.

The pregame was in HD for me. I'm watching OTA in Miami. PQ looks very good.

Great DD 5.1.
nice of them to finally start the game...

pq ok. a bit soft. not much definition to the turf on the main cam shots. good color (how come black unis for the dawgs?). no pixelation. a bit of noise. closeups seem to be losing focus. not as good as earlier games today.

aq ok. not very immersive. great majority of crowd noise coming from front speakers.

comcast south jersey.

Looks great here, Wach-Dt via TWC. Looks like Hawaii is a little tight.

Looks great OTA in Jacksonville, FL at the moment. Not as good as the PQ from Sunday's Cowboys-Redskins game, but still good.

One commercial commentary....the new Southwest ads are not funny.

aw, c'mon. i got a kick out of the "press conference" one.

one thing that is NOT funny is the thing that they just pulled on us with the "jumper" overlay on the replay of the touchdown... fox has always been bad for these things (the stupid aol guy, the transformer guy, etc.), but this is taking it to new heights...

Looks great here. Local WRAZ Fox Raleigh, Time Warner Cable with SA8300HDC and Mystro

WHY was there no review on the spot for that Georgia running play on 3rd and 7 right before they scored the TD ? he got a VERY generous spot.

then there was a review on the Hawaii completion across midfield on the right sideline that was CLEARLY a catch on the 1st view .

disgraceful.

I can do with fewer crowd shots and more game coverage.

Pac-10 crew - watch out!!
no replays at all to show/clarify the supposed holding and personal foul penalties called on UH on that drive . curious.

*rolls eyes*

I would just like to see that they actually occurred.

Lots of audio drops (~every 30 secs) accompanied with picture blocks and quick frozen frames. Occuring on both of our cable boxes. All other games today have been fine.

No. VA Comcast via Motorola 6412.
good thing that moreno guy has a bad ankle... hawaii cannot stop him... at least thus far...
Despite the "High Powered" offense tag, Hawaii is a slow starter/2nd half team.

With that said, Hawaii needs to fix the up the middle D and stop blitzing.

Update... our other channels are doing this too, so it's not just the local Fox feed.

Picture is excellent on WTTG Fox 5 Washington over FiOS.

The real question is: why can't Fox put together this kind of PQ on its NFL games? I'm worried that, just like last year, we'll be in for a subpar NFL Playoffs presentation by Fox.

Here in Chicago, the game isn't in HD. It started in HD for the first quarter and maybe 4 minutes of the second quarter, but now it is 4:3. Not sure what happened.
