haha.. i was waiting for a pessimistic reply like that. but it's not my bubble busting, everything's working fine right now.
and if it doesn't continue that way, i'll unplug and play. i didn't like the uncertainty of those freeze recordings, usuallly made at like 430 am , at all. but the resolution of the problem is great, now.
i just don't expect perfection from these wonderful electronic gadgets, and a quirk here and there just adds chararcter to the whole little black box thing. lol.
i did just remember that i *might* also have changed a setting in the picture settings menu (in addition to unplugging the box and reseating the hdmi cables). as i said, i now experience black-screen "mini-freezes" soemtimes when FF or RW, which work themselves through (or i get impatient and press PLAY), and these instances i think are caused by content being switched 'tween sd and hd broadcasting, but that's just a guess.
inanycase, i don't remember that happening before, when i was having the real freeze problems, so it's possible that making that change in the settings also fixed something, too.
if it matters to you, i'll take a look in there and see what my settings are.
i also remember trying to find some consistent behavior to attach to the freeze and never could. the closest i could come to was to suspect it had something to do with sd/hd channel switches, but i couldn't get a firm decision on that.
finally, i had the freeze before and after the software update. and, my recording schedule is exactly the same now (problem solved) as it was when it was a problem -- same times, same channels, same order, including both tuners on overlapping times.
so anyway. . .it's good you're not having the problem now, isn't it? think positive. mine's not coming back.
