XBL was FUBAR and all I got was this lousy arcade game...

Looks like MS is giving both gold and sliver members a gift for having to deal with XBL being down over the holidays. According to MS the holiday brought record XBL sign ups which was the reason for the issues with Live. I am not buying it but that is their story and they plan to stick to it and bribe you with a free arcade game. It better not be I already own. LOL

its gonna be crap.


i wish it was either something good, or just your choice of whatever you want, or a redemption code good for 800 points that could only be used for an arcade purchase, or something along those lines.

Yeah that would be cool but I am going to doubt it. I am sure it will be some crap game that isn't selling anyway. lol

Well I for one am glad that they just released a statement regarding the 'attack'. They've retained their good image in my eyes that was all that I asked for.

MN just posted the podcast with e discussing the live holiday debacle. I am downloading it now but I will have to wait to listen to it on the way home. Blah.

It still isnt fixed I was lagging the whole time I tried to play halo 3 last night, hurry along now MS.

Really. Then why are you asking MS to give you anything or complaining when they do?

I was not able to connect for 4 or 5 days straight and I would have been happy with a "We are very sorry this happened and here is the things we are doing to make sure it doesn't happen again."

sucked again last night! I can't even remember the last time I got in a full game of cod 4. This weekend is do or die time. Seriously if it isn't up and running tonight, I'm gonna..well...I'm gonna wait longer!

Other than choosing a good host, lag has nothing to do with Live. It has everything to do with your internet connection, and the connection you have to the host of the game, which isn't Microsoft.

You seriously expect them to basically hand out ten bucks for you to buy whatever arcade game you want? Get real! Why not just go ahead and start the class action thread....we all know someone will wind up doing it.

I posted this in the other thread, too, but it was inevitable to get this complaint in both threads.

They could just give you a buck for the week of service you missed out on.

They can't win. If they give away one of the most popular games, the guys who already have it will complain. If they give away a game that isn't as popular, people who don't already have it will complain that the game is crap.

COD 4 has been hit or more since right after Xmas so I believe the record sign up/load thing. Quite frankly it was perfect up to about Xmas Eve then after Xmas started having problems. Certain times COD 4 seems to behave better than others. Hopefully when kids go back to school next week it'll settle down during the week a bit more. Ultimately M$ needs more capacity and more servers as does IW which takes time to order hardware and setup and install it. I've noticed with COD that Mercenary Team Deathmatch seems to have broader lag issues than HQ does. Played HQ last night with 12 with minimal lag...

I was in a THICK discussion about this in another thread. I think its great they stepped up to the plate and acknowledged the problem and are PROACTIVE about compensating their customers with something for their lost time. Especially time during the week of Xmas that wont be available again until a year later.

Hopefully they give us points and not a game. If your cell phone or TV service was spotty or not functioning for a week or so, would you want a credit or a new ringtone?
