Mitsubishi XL5U and a dirty lens

Hi people!

I recently bought a Mitsubishi XL5U LCD projector from ebay. The projector is cosmetically and electronically in very good shape. It also came with an extra lamp.

Anyway, I noticed that there is a film of dust inside the lens, making the projected picture look a bit fuzzy, and of course destroying whatever detail and contrast that it can produce.

My question is: Is there any way that I can clean the lens out without resorting to take this projector to a service center? I can only find info on how to replace the lamp, but not to remove and clean the lens, itself.

Thanks for whatever info any of you can give me.

I too have the same problem with my HD1000U. Spraying compressed air through the vents does no good. I'm forced to take drastic measures: removing the cover and cleaning it internally. Maybe this Saturday when I have more time.

I tried to take it apart, myself, but I ran into problems (too many wires and ribbon that are unmarked). I can't find any instructions on how to disasemble the unit (I want to do it, properly).
