Acoustical Panel for center channel

My center channel speaker is located above the screen near the ceiling and angled down toward the listening position. I am considering adding an acoustical panel on the ceiling at the first reflection point and was wondering (for aesthetic reasons) how small (width & length) it can be, and still be effective? All speakers are set to small so bass is being handled by the sub. The lower half of the room is also treated.

The bigger the better. But you can use the "mirror trick" and try it from every seat anyone uses in the room. Than make the panel a foot larger in all directions.
