Netflix BD disc rental discussion thread - Page 263

Definitely, I made the purchase at $9.99 the day I posted that above.

Drat! Didn't get true blood BDs shipped today. Had two discs returned today and despite having TB at the top of my queue I was passed over. Did get Arrietty (DVD) for my kids,though. Plus one older title.

I have been scoring well on new releases so I can't really complain... but I wanted TB!. :cry:

Ditto, showing as available but did not ship. It's curious because HBO releases are distributed by Warner, which has the 2-month delay. So I wonder if they are supposed to be showing as available at all?

Since they weren't on the New This Week page I was wondering if they really would be available today. Anybody get them shipped today? By this evening hey should show Very Long Wait if they really are shipping today.

I'm seeing Season 4 available .. BD only .. Season 5 not yet ..

That's probably because Season 5 is premiering on HBO June 10th. Season 4 is the new release we all seem to be trying to get from Netflix.

FWIW, disc 1 is showing "Very Long Wait" while the other discs are listed as "Short Wait" in my queue.

I pulled up Season 4, dropped disc 1 in my Q and it was available on BD only .. that's my point ..

My NF comes out of St Louis ..

You're right about that. It certainly was confusing that you seemed to expect to see a season of True Blood available on Netflix that hasn't even aired on HBO yet...

I miss the days (if they ever really existed) when guys would man-up and admit their mistakes, rather than try to puff their chest out and act as if their obvious blunder was intentional. Oh, well - what can you do?


No, but from what I've read in the past, it's likely an issue with your local post office sending the discs through the machines they're not supposed to. Contacting Netflix and/or the local postal sorting center seems to get it straightened out.

^^^I see. I do report each cracked disc I get to Netflix. I suppose if I keep getting them I may have to take the next step.

I've gone through spurts of cracked discs and usually have to call Netflix and it clears up in a few days.

I was told by a CR once that they have a team that contacts the problem post office to remind them to not run the mailers through the sorters and I suspect it's true based on my experiences.

Man, Amazon has the Alien Anthology on BD, US version, for $30 today(one Day sale). Of course I recently payed $35 for the import version when the US version was still over $50. I guess I should have waited longer.

Passed over for new release BD two weeks in a row. Didn't get John Carter today despite three returned discs. Heard it was a crappy film so not too bummed, but I'm sad to be on a losing streak with new releases.

Same here with the same titles. Starting to look like the Saturday return trick may be over, at least for popular titles.

I don't know if a week or two makes a trend ..

Monday Holiday last week thru off my mail back schedule, so did not mail a disk back until today .. normally, I mail back on Saturday as well ..

I'll see what happens tomorrow .. the lack of good content these days is more of a bummer to me than NF mailing times ..

I've gone through dry spells like this before so I'm not worried long term. I will see how things go for the next few cycles before I get freaked out.

I quized a Postal Honcho a while back .. asked how can NF do it .. ?? I mean with back and forth shipping / cost of the content / etc .. the Post Office has got to be giving them a hell of a deal .. he told me that not only does NF have a hell of a deal with USPS but they let the Post Office run the disks thru the auto sort machines to save money from hand sorting ..

I'm guessing JC will ship tomorrow.

Well then I'm hoping they send it tomorrow. Usually they send me new titles on Mondays. But sometimes they still send them on Tuesday. I have it in my Netflix and Blockbuster queue but neither sent me a copy today. So I hope one of them sends me a copy tomorrow.

No John Carter this week for me and it's on very long wait .. even though my return got to the warehouse Tuesday morning ..

Checked RedBox and I guess they did not get it at all ..

I got screwed by Netflix and Blockbuster on this title. I expect it from Blockbuster, but it's an extremely rare event for Netflix to not ship me a new title.

Yes .. I was figuring I'd get it as well .. and I don't understand why RedBox did not get it .. makes me wonder if the distributor did not have enough stock ..

Redbox was my fall back option. I was also surprised they didn't have it. More like pissed actually. but that was on top of being screwed by Netflix and Blockbuster.
