Yeah, I figured it out. About two weeks ago I had to reset my BD player back to factory defaults. Secondary Audio is on by default. I did not go back and turn it off. Odd how some titles still showed that the receiver was getting DTS-MA. .
Like I said: this is normal. Not all discs use Secondary Audio so they will send DTS-MA audio from the player.
Anybody get Lawrence Of Arabia shipped today? I had it at the top of my queue but it got skipped.
I didn't try for it since I plan to buy it at some point, but they shipped both Brave and Moonrise Kingdom off two disc I sent back on Saturday. They received both yesterday on the holiday and they sent the replacements out today for Wednesday delivery.
Edit: scratch that....I got both discs today. Not bad considering there was no mail delivery yesterday, Edited by NetworkTV - 11/13/12 at 3:57pm
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. Did Netflix only buy one BD copy for the entire flippin' country? Been on "very long wait" since release date. Glad the surcharge for BD is working like it was intended.

I'm in the St Louis warehouse area and it's been on "very long wait" since release .. I'd really like to see it, but it's BD on this for me or nothing ..

It'll probably wind up on Showtime or HBO before it ever gets shipped from Netflix. Can't understand why a title released almost 6 months ago is so hard to get from them. Edited by badboi - 11/15/12 at 8:34am
Did they split off the DVD and streaming sides again? Tonight, going to the site and then clicking on my queue takes me to a DVD-only version of the site, no links for streaming or a tab for my streaming queue.
ETA - well, looks like they fixed it. Edited by sirjonsnow - 11/29/12 at 5:06pm
They seem to be doing web maintenance. They fixed the cookie problem on the new release this week page (yea) and I have seen short term weirdness from time to time in the last two weeks.
Has anyone ever ordered full metal jacket from netflix? I am just wondering whether they have the orignal or the remastered one they came out with a year later. It states just dolby digital on the spec sheet for blu ray, so I would assume its the crappy first one, but sometimes that is old info, so i was just looking for some personal experience here. thanks
Anyone else having trouble accessing the Netflix queue page? Specifically I can't get there on my android phone on any browser. I can go to the main Netflix page but when I click from there on the Queue link, it eventually times out.
Rented American Reunion on BD. The disc menu includes the option to view the unrated version, but when you click it, it tells you that the disc is for rental only, and to purchase the disc if I want to access unrated content.

yeah, isn't that RUDE?? just another way for the studios to try to wring more money out of us.
I'm all for them getting what they're due, and against pirating and all that, but this is terrible, screwing the rental market. not everyone can afford to buy every movie!

They have been doing that for some time now .. most all rental versions I've gotten on any film that had a directors cut / unrated version, etc button did not actually have that alternate version .. both from RB as well as NF ..

Are they stripped or are the menu option just disabled? If its the latter it would be very easy to find the correct playlist and bypass the menu (if you have an HTPC).

Definitely stripped .. they are just don't go thru the trouble of removing the alternate version button .. which makes you think it's really there but it's not ..

That sucks. If it makes you feel any better, the unrated version of American Reunion is not that unrated.

Yeah, I'm actually ok with the rental versions being neutered. I realize the studios are trying to make their money. However, what irked me (and the real reason I came here to mention it) isn't that the disc didn't have the unrated version, but that they had to tempt me with it in the first place. If you're going through the effort of making a rental version only, why even bother with a disc menu? Just start playing the movie when the trailers are done (another thing that bugs me, having to skip past all the trailers).
It's just a big sign that says "look at me! See what you could be getting if you bought me instead of rented!"

I think it's more laziness than anything else .. the studios are playing around with rental BD's .. no HD audio / no alternate version .. and I understand why .. BD sales have not been the cash cow they hoped and 3-D has not taken off big time either .. combine that with cheap RedBox and NetFlix rentals ..
I believe the studios would prefer if we all streamed content on a PPV basis ..

I agree. Like I posted before, stripping down rental dics isn't going to translate into gains in retail sales. The increase in profits are coming from streaming. Vudu even offers director cuts of certain popular releases like Total Recall.

The studios don't have to deal with the First Sale Doctrine on streaming content .. and more and more, we're seeing advance streaming opportunity prior to actual disc release .. with a nice hefty markup ..

Has the Netflix site been down all day for anyone else?
I also haven't gotten any e-mails as to whether discs have been sent out for the ones they reported checked in.
