Streaming on my Android tablet also seems to be unaffected, so it seems likely it's a database issue with the main site.

Are they trying to make up for the outage? I'm on the 1-out-at-a-time plan, got Looper today, but they also shipped out another movie for tomorrow.

I suspect this is what may be happening.  I returned a mailer on Saturday hoping to get Looper on Monday, but as we know their system was down.  Then yesterday I got an email notification saying they had received Looper....confused.gif  Today they sent me the next disc in my queue. My shipping history shows Looper as shipped 12/31 and received today, but I have a feeling (hoping) I will see it in the mail today like you did.  So it's either a way to get an additional disc out to subs without impacting their X at a time plan, or their system really was messed up.

I just checked...same thing with Looper for me. It says it was sent on the 31st and returned today, so hopefully you get it as well (I sent in my last movie Saturday also).

Like others I didn't get an email confirming the receipt of the last movie I sent in, or about them sending me Looper. I did get an email about them sending out this latest movie however...

Well, whatever the case may be, I'm not complaining. tongue.gif

It had showed that Looper was sent to me on Monday in my queue. But today it showed that I had returned Looper already. I just got it in the mail today. I had already rented it from RedBox on Monday so it's going back in the Netflix mailer.

I also got it despite not sending a disc back until Saturday. I didn't realize it was a Monday release, so I didn't send a disc back on Friday.

I got a confirmation email saying they got both the discs I returned, but I never got anything about them sending Looper and a disc that was released Tuesday. I got both on Wednesday without any word other than the site once it was back up.

No big deal since I got everything, but I was concerned until the site came back up and I saw they were on the way.

Unfortunately, it was pretty scratched and skipped about a half hour in so I sent it back and they are sending me another one. Hopefully it will be the new version again. I guess you can't always go off of the info on the netflix site....

Just watched Arbitrage tonight which is Lionsgate. The BD sound track was in DTS Master Audio, not DD. Who knew?

Once again, the Netflix New Releases this week page isn't showing new TV series release. Fortunately, I have had Being Human (UK) Series 4 in my queue for a while and knew it was coming up, but it's very annoying when their new releases page is incomplete. I wonder what other TV series I've missed due to ignorance that they now have it?

Are you referring to DVD's or streaming? In the watch instantly new arrivals section, they show the most recently added TV shows. In the DVD new release section, you can scroll down to 'released in the last':...and use the drop down bar to choose 'week'. When I look for a particular show I use the search function.

Looks like season 4 is only to be available on DVD from Netflix. FWIW, you can stream it in HD for free from Amazon.

After you hit play, the streaming function lists 4 series. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that's 4 seasons? Amazon requires a subscription to Prime. I wouldn't exactly consider that free.

..OK, so assuming you have a Prime subscription...

Having said that, it's well worth it. With prime, even 2 day shipping is often next day shipping and if I'm willing to forgo the faster shipping, I get credits for MP3s and streaming rentals (for stuff that isn't free). That's kind of nice when I want to buy a song that I know I'll probably grow tired of listening to in a couple years. It's also allowed me to stream items that aren't available via Netflix, but would have been a rental with Amazon.

However, the big bonus for me is the fact that Prime stuff ships via UPS. Since I have an account with UPS, I get notified the day before a package is scheduled to be delivered with the option to release it if I won't be there to accept it. With Super Saver, it's usually USPS, which has terrible tracking.

hello, guys.

i have not been watching movies for about 2 years now = sold condo, bought house, long story.

anyway. i am now setting up my theater and i want to know if netflix is as good as they were 2 years ago ? getting BD's in the mail. an issues, becides the site being down so much, i see.

Netflix is even better now, especially if you use an ISP that has access to their SuperHD and 3D streams. Getting rentals in the mail is as good as ever for me. I still receive my titles on release day 95% of the time.
