Suggestion for Toshiba!

Make a $199 Blu-Ray addon that works on both the A series players AND the Xbox 360.

Microsoft better give Toshiba all the support they need. This is the only chance MS can slow down the PS3!

The PS3 has gained traction in the gaming industry and is somehow presenting a threat to the 360 and Wii that needs to be slowed down? What dimension are you reporting from?

Post again when the PS3 has managed to outsell the 360 or Wii in monthly sales.

Or better yet post these kinds of comments in a gaming thread.

This is not about gaming. This is about Corporate Warfare.

Like it or not, with the support of the Blu-Ray format, the PS3 will grow. That's not good for MS.

Post again when you get a better understanding of Economy 101

I really think MS is not to worried about the PS3 taking over.

Right now it seems that it's the best Blu-Ray player only because no companies have any idea how to make a Blu-Ray player that works great due to the incomplete specs and the broken design of the format.

Once and if possible the players will get better and soon the PS3 will be looked at not as a Blu-Ray player but as a Game Machine once again and not sell as well.

Really if you did not care about the Blu-Ray why would you buy the PS3 when the 360 out performers it in almost every game? If they both had Blu-Ray in it from the start Sony would have been owned. No good games, Way to high of a price, no exclusive games, crappy online etc.

It's only going to take some time before the support of PS3 slows down and the stand alone players over take it.

Thank you, Customgamer1, for the kind reply.

If you were MS, you don't want to wait for PS3 to take over the market then start to worry about it. You want to use every minute of your time to make Sony's life miserable.

Let's not do this to our fellow forum members. Right, G2k?

I agree with Customgamer1. The PS3 has the momentum right now only because it is the best blu-ray player out there. If the profiles can be finalized, and if the CE companies can make better standalone players, then you'll see the numbers shift away from the PS3 to the standalones. The xbox 360 has the better games out there right now and I don't think the PS3 will ever catch up to the Wii.

Sure they do - the formula is simple........put a butt load of processing power inside the box - viola! A good, fast, BD player

PS3 sales from a game console perspective is not doing that well. From a new movie format perspective, it's doing much better than the competition. As far as MS trying to slow down the PS3.. their main concern (with the Xbox) is through gaming & downloads not movie DISC formats. MS has hands in both formats and focusing more on movie downloads. The overall picture is that MS wants to capture the download market not compete in a movie format war. They already support Blu-Ray on Windows machines and have talked about Blu-Ray support for 360 down the road.

A side note: 360 Premium and Elite consoles have been sold out everywhere since X-Mas.. they are now only trickling back into retail. Many reports of low availability for the console were circling around game sites while PS3 stacks could be seen at retailers. So I wouldn't say that MS is having a hard time slowing down the PS3.

Man I hate it how these discussions ultimately lead to Xbox vs PS3....
