Did BCI release it's first Blu-ray's today?

Micro-label BCI was supposed to release it's double-feature Blu-ray NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF/VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES today? I'm sure the 70's films of Spanish cult-horror icon Paull Naschy aren't a big noise around here, but I'm pretty enthused that such an obscurity is being announced. They may only sell a dozen, but it's a start.

By the way if you like this kind of thing, you might do well to buy it and support a tiny label who's really sticking their neck out. Criterion will be watching.

I see they were also to street two martial arts double-features, Killing Machine/Shogun's Ninja and Sister Street Fighter/Sister Street Fighter II.

Anyone get these or know anything about the video/audio/extras?

I ordered the horror one, I have the DVDs too, I think they just have trailers and alternate scenes, not much, but some stuff. You are getting two features per disk at the low end of the BD price scale.

These are all showing 1-4 week wait times on Amazon, and I didn't see any available while I was out shopping on my lunch break.

I had both of those ordered at one point but cancelled. Highdefdigest says that each disc is a BD-25 with 2 films on it. I realize that these films are pretty short, but I wanted to see the reviews before taking the plunge especially because I already own the Sister Street Fighter box set on DVD that they released in '06.

BCI had NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF/VENGENCE OF THE ZOMBIES slated for individual HD DVD releases, at least a year ago, then they got yoinked and later appeared as this Blu-ray double-feature. They have both HD DVD and Blu-ray double-features slated for January, but the titles are completely different on each format. In total they have something like 5-6 HDM releases announced for this month, which I gotta say is probably wishful thinking for a label that frequently delays their SD DVD releases months at a time.

The SD releases are 90 minutes each with Spanish and English tracks, as well as trailers, deleted scenes and introductions. I suppose all the extra stuff could be 480p, and not take up much space.

NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF/VENGENCE OF THE ZOMBIES is slated for a BD50 (that's why it's $5 more). Plenty of room there I should think.
Yeah, a BD-50 should be fine for those titles. I hope that Highdefdigest is wrong about the other two, because I wouldn't hesitate to buy them if they are BD-50s.

Good ole BCI NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF/VENGENCE OF THE ZOMBIES has been postponed until Feb. 19th.
I ordered the werewolf/zombie and sister streetfighter discs, but haven't been shipped. Amazon hasn't said they were pushed back (again). I've been waiting over a year for these titles on HD, so I may just bag it and buy the DVDs.
BTW, amazon lists them as 2 discs each, so I'm not sure if they are BD-50s.

I'ld love to buy it, but I can't. I'm not sure I enjoy the idea of rewarding incompetence.

Ah, I would take 2 BD-25s in each set. I thought that they were going to put 2 films on 1 BD-25, and 12.5GB per film isn't much more space than a DVD-9 considering you're going from 480p to 1080p. If that's not the case then I'll probably place my order again.

Is this official? I haven't seen any announcements. Amazon now says delivery January 18-January 24.
I'm having BCI flashbacks here. I'm beginning to suspect these will never see the light of day.

Yeah, I got the old "revise order to accept delay in release" e-mail from Amazon today too. I presume nobody has actually seen any of these in a store yet.

I got the February 19 street off of Fangoria's Video Chopping List, it was just updated.
It's been updated to Feb 19th on every major online retailer except for Amazon.
Damn I´ve been waiting a long time for these. I hope they don´t push forward the release date again in Feb.

I also hope they are Region-Free!

BD needs more cult/grindhouse movies like those and I hope they release the rest of the Sonny Chiba movies as well

I was just informed by Amazon, that werewolf/zombie is shipping Monday. Still waiting for sister Streetfighter.

BCI apparently just released ULTIMATE FORCE. DVDVerdict gave the film a bad review but I almost want to pick it up just to show support for an indie company like this.
I got Ultimate Force on HD DVD, and it was a terrible movie. And I'm not usually picky about these. It's ten times worse than even the latest Seagal outputs.

I just hope that BCI will get these out this time around.

10 times, surely you are being generous, it was at best 100 times worse!!!

By the way, my Bob Hope double feature and Galaxina have been shipped by Amazon and should be here today.

Interesting. Amazon claims not to have Galaxina-"notify me when it becomes available".

Galaxina on HDDVD and Night of the Werewolf/ Vengeance of the Zombies on BR shipped today from Amazon. I'm looking forward to these, curious to see how BCI did with them.
Today Amazon lists Galaxina, so I ordered it. I should get werewolf/zombie today, and Sister Streetfighter should come Thursday.

I have no problem with it - but why do they have one title on one format (and not the other) and vice versa for other titles. Makes little sense!

Either way, I'm planning to pick up Galaxina, Night of the Werewolf/Vengeance of the Zombies, and Road To Rio & Bali. I like cheesy sci-fi and schlock Euro-horror, as well as old films like the latter. I'm going to hold off on Sister Street Fighter (kung fu exploitation doesn't appeal to me too much...I like crime and giallo) as well as Ultimate Force (since everyone says it's so bad - is it any good by Eurocrime standards? I like the stuff by Umberto Lenzi...). But on kung fu exploitation, is that Killing Machine/Shogun's Ninja good stuff?

EDIT: I am going to correct my previous post...apparently Ultimate Force is available on both Blu-Ray Disc and HD DVD...
