Hello all! I have been on this site for a while researching, reading, wasting time... I share an apartment and decided to set up the guest room with a very modest HT. My roommates have friends over alot and putting it in a separate room ensures that no one messes with it! here you go!

Receiver: Denon AVR 2708
Speakers: SVS SBS-01 5.1 with the PB10-NSD sub
TV: Samsung 50" Plasma HDTV (HPS5033)
HD DVD: Toshiba HD-A2
Blu-Ray: Samsung BPD1000
Monster Power MPHTS 3600
Game System: Wii
Cable: Cox HD DVR
Harmony 880 remote
All cables from Blue Jean Cables

My furniture is pretty cheap, but I that really is the last thing to upgrade on my list... It isn't the prettiest looking but it gets the job done. When the lights are off, no one can tell!

Friends Style!

Sorry about the bad lighting

you can see the monster SVS sub

The SVS center was blocking the remote sensor on the TV, so I set the TV on 3 black precute MDF shelves from Home Depot. Raised it just enough!

You can see the bias lighting - simple rope lighting from Home Depot

yes, that is a woot monkey you see on the edge of the shot! If you dont know, dont ask!

Does the "rope" lighting actually make that much of a difference in a dark room?

Can you take a pic of the MDF shelves that you are using? I am having the same IR issue and was looking for a way to get the center out of the console.

Gratci!

After looking at my pictures, I decided that I needed to get some decent furniture. After looking around town I found a nice TV stand at Costco for $199. I picked up some speaker stands on Craigslist for $25 and some lamps at IKEA for $20. I think that it makes a huge difference! What do you think!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I love the SVS system. When I was getting started I was trying to do things on a pretty tight budget and the SVS system was in the price range I wanted to be in.

About 99% of my time is spent watching movies, and for that these are great. The price was right, the size was right and most important the sound was right. I very happy. The PB10-NSD sub rocks my room. It would shake the pictures off the wall if I let it!

SVS builds a very high quality product and overall I am very happy!

Thanks for taking a look. I am very happy with how my first home theater system turned out.

wow....a radical change with a few bucks......great !!!

Now you just need a PS3 , I mean why just a Wii that only has 480p and crapy audio....Sorry for your HD DVD ....at least you have a lot of movies to enjoy it...!!

And get rid off that monkey he´s trying to steal your BR movies.....

Bye
