YES! Nyko's making a Zapper that doesn't suck!

I am so buying one of these. This is what the Wii Zapper should have been: pistol shaped, mechanical trigger, and none of this nunchuck attached to the Zapper BS. Now it's to bad I still have to buy a Zapper to get Link's crossbow training .

Looks like somebody got it right!

Actually, this is already out...I posted my mini-review in another thread on this page, but I'll repeat it here:

Friday I got my Nyko Perfect Shot from buy.com, which was the only place I could find it in stock online or off.

The Perfect Shot totally kicks the Zapper to the curb, in my opinion. It's comfortable, has a passthrough for the nunchuck to be held seperately instead of joined in that uncomfortable two-handed deal of the Zapper, and most of all it has a spring-loaded trigger so it doesn't have that mushy action that the Zapper does. It's made Ghost Squad a LOT more fun, and now I'm seriously considering picking up RE: Umbrella Chronicles.

I don't regret buying the Zapper, of course, since for my $19 I also got a copy of the great Link's Crossbow, but if that game doesn't interest you at all I would just skip the Zapper completely and get the Perfect Shot. IMO, of course.

Bottom line: if you play gun games on the Wii, you need this.

oh damn didn't realize this was out already. Going to have to grab a couple, thanks for the review Evilboy

EDIT: Damnit, they're out of stock

I don't need one yet, but amazon has one in stock...

also has a link to other sites and also says that more are "on the way"

I just picked up 2 from amazon.com for $29 shipped.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Would this work for RE:4 or is the control scheme different?

I´m thinking of getting this gun and umbrella chronicles too, but I was thinking because I have a projector, which makes the sensor bar way below the middle of the screen... won´t the aim of the gun be far off and kinda suck?

Thanks for the heads up!!

This is lame, Amazon updated my order with a delivery date of between Feb 18-24th.

When I ordered it told me that they had 2 in stock, which turned out to be an error on their part.

I can't wait a month to get my perfect shot!!
Hopefully I can find a pair in store and cancel my Amazon order.

Has anyone seen one in a store?

I too missed the first shipment (late Dec).

Yes, we should have no trouble finding these in stores but not until the second week of Febuary. BB, CC, Target, etc. all carry Nyko products (example: the dual remote charger almost all of have). Just in the past week, GameStop.com has it listed for preorder finally, so there is another purchase option.

One last thing, Amazon has been confusing us for weeks. They say, "Only 2 left in stock--order soon (more on the way)" but at the same time they say "Availability: In stock on February 13, 2008. Order it now." Thanks Amazon.
Yeah I haven't found anyone but Amazon and buy.com selling them. It would be great if big box stores get them soon and sell them for $15 or less.
Good to see this. I played with my brother's zapper this weekend and agree that it sucks.
it took 4 days for buy.com to send me an email stating item is backordered.
I just recieved a confirmation email from Amazon.com that my 2 Nyko Perfect Shot's have shipped!!

Estimated delivery (usps.com) Feb. 4th

I just made the switch from the wii zapper to the nyko perfect shot. I highly recommend that anyone with a wii zapper make the switch as well.

Build quality is the same in both guns; however, nyko's "extension" device that's used to hit the "b" button makes a world of difference. Also, the fact that the nunchuck is optional allows for more freedom.

Umbrella chronicles was almost unplayable with the zapper; however, now with the perfect shot, you can hold the gun in one hand and the nunchuck in your other hand, using that to reload.

With Ghost Squad, you don't even need the nunchuck. Whenever there are action sequences (the few times they pop up), you just hold the gun with both hands, and hit the "a" button with your left hand. It feels surprisingly more natural.

Also, both of my roommates (non-gamers) commented that they liked the new guns much better than the wii zapper.

Ghost Squad is great with the Nyko perfect shot. It's not so much the gameplay but that Sega got the calibration just right. Too bad Crossbow training didn't have the same level of calibration.

When you get the calibration down in Ghost Squad, it's practically lightgun like... where you aim with the gunsight is where the shot is. You can pretty much play without the onscreen aim reticle. That's the most fun way to play it.

I'm hopeful for the upcoming (march 19th) "House of the Dead 2 and 3 Returns" because it's coming from Sega also.

Should this guy be in the gamestop stores in the mall yet? Walmart or Bestbuy? I'd like to stop at one place and find it 1st time. Thanks

With Gamestop, you can check online to see if any of their stores have it in stock. It's a bunch of "0" for this accessory in all the stores near me so I'm guessing you have to order it online.

They do have it instock online at the moment though. That's how I got two of them + Ghost Squad, and the shipping was 6.99 for 2 day shipping (5.99 for ground).

I saw a video of HOD 2 & 3 and the the two guys were calibrating their Wii remotes. Game looks great and surprisingly it will support 16x9. I just picked up RE : The Umbrella Chronicles on Amazon and played the hell out of it using my Nyko Perfect Shots with friends of mine. The game doesn't have any calibration setting but it was still more fun than holding the Wii remotes alone.

I received a Perfect Shot from GS.com approx. 2 weeks ago and love it on Ghost Squad, LoZ Crossbow, Wii Play, etc. Order on-line to avoid the hassle. I waited weeks just to potentially buy it in person and to this day, that is not an option. It's still not even in the BB, CC, Target, etc. inventory. GS has no idea when more are expected in store.

Are the 10 dollar guns for sale at ebay any good, what is so good about the perfect shot. I'm not that into games but I wouldn't mind paying 10 bucks for a gun for my wii. What is the nunchuck connected to the zapper? please help. the only games I have are wii sports and wii play and I don't want to spend alot of money on two guns just to play the short shooting game in wii play....

thanks...

I finally opened my Perfect Shot and Resident Evil 4 to check out a shooter on the Wii. Am I missing something or do I really have to push the A button on top of the wiimote inside the Perfect Shot to fire a shot? What's the point of the trigger if all it does is pull back the hammer? This seems like a giant waste.

The ergonomics of the actual gun are great, but using it to aim, hitting A to fire, plus moving with the the nunchuk is tedious at best.
Resident Evil 4 wasn't designed to use the Wii Zapper, meaning they didn't put the action button on the B button like all the games designated as "compatible with the Wii Zapper" do. Maybe there's a button remapping function on the game?
Argh, that makes sense-- my bad. I probably should have picked up Umbrella instead.

This probably doesn't pertain to you since you are in Conneticut, but out here in the West, Fry's Electronics had the guns in stock in a store I visited.

It's the same gun as the Nyko except it is all white and is sold under the name of Smart Gun Pro by Hvg2. $17.99. (I already have a Nyko, but I picked one to compare them.)

Here's a link to what the gun looks like:

(And a place to buy. Seems like the Nyko is a copy of this gun.)

For what it's worth, the Circuit City shops around my office are carrying the Perfect Shot, too. I was surprised to see them in a b&m.

For what it's worth, Fry's is having a sale on the gun this week. The catch is you have to buy House of the Dead II & III for the Wii to get the sale. Both the gun and game in a combo pack costs $34.99, so the gun will cost you five bucks.

That's a good deal, wish I had a Fry's nearby.
