A League of Their Own

I have the LaserDisc but for some reason never bought the DVD. It was a single disc. Then the "Special Edition" came out. A little too late. So where's the friggin' Blu-ray?!!

Howzabout THE BLACK SCORPION?

Special effects by Willis O'Brien. DVD is long out of print. Remaining copies are fetching ridiculous prices on Amazon.

Subway
The Big Blue

The Keep
The Core
Wing Commander
First Men in the Moon

would love these on bluray

How about The Heist - Gene Hackman in a David Mamet movie that came out around the same time as The Score.

I searched all around for this and couldn't find any existing information, granted I find that the search engines here take a bit of finesse that maybe I just don't have. Regardless, the only topic I found related to when Lawrence of Arabia is supposed to be released was a thread with Mod saying "we already have threads for this" and locked it... even though I can't find them.

Anyhoo, other movies have their own threads so here's LoA's.

First question... when the heck is this coming out? Any rumors?

I've heard next year, for its 50th anniversary. Sony has been working on an 8K restoration from the original 65mm negatives.

Agree...it's coming and 2012 is the 50th Anniversary. It should be an impressive set...

THE CASSANDRA CROSSING shows up on HDNetMovies once in a while, so an HD master has been made. So where's the Blu-ray?

The widescreen edition (actually only letterboxed within the 4/3 frame) DVD is long out of print and looked like crap anyway. Only version still widely available is pan & scan.

Any fans of the old tv series "COMBAT!" (1962-1967)?
Image Entertainment has already released it on DVD.
But there website makes no mention of them re-releasing it on blu-ray.
Does anybody know if "Combat!" will be coming to blu-ray anytime soon?

Did Fallen ever come out? One of the first dvds, and I bet Warner didn't use an ENR print

I went back and read some threads from 2009 and 2010 about the Canadian and U.S. Blu-rays for Blade being screwed up and not having any extras, but I haven't seen any recent news regarding Blade (or the trilogy). Are they rereleasing them any time soon with proper aspect ratios, picture quality, and extras? Any news on that? Thanks.

All I want for Christmas is The Ref! For me this is tied with Christmas Vacation for best holiday movie ever! All we have is a non anamorphic DVD in any region, and it's not available in HD on any streaming service that I've found. This is a gross injusice, we must have this movie!

Hostile Hostages? It's anamorphic in the UK.
Being one of Simpson/Bruckheimer's rare flops and after the writers (unfortunately) fell out of favour, I would not expect to hear anything for a while.

(I really like it too Ted was my preferred Demme brother, but I would rather we got thing's to do in denver, and beautiful girls first)

Bah! Alternate title, thats why I never found it. Just ordered.

Everyone I know who has seen this movie, completely loves it, it deserves better.

The uk disc is titled the ref, but the rear credit block says hostile hostages

I guess so. I mean just because a show isn't as popular as Star Trek doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the HD treatment. Even shows like 24 were dubbed "best show on prime time" back in it's day.

Still, even for 24, they would have to go back and re-do seasons 1-6 for HD. You'd think this would happen in at least 20 years, because when people then compare something like Ultra HD to standard def, they would probably think that it would probably be worth a remaster.

I'm not sure if I'm right on this, but with new formats coming out (eg. 4K), wouldn't it get cheaper to remaster lower resolution film?

As for Fox, I don't remember seeing anything official about whether they are or aren't doing any remasters.

Strange Days. I want it on Blu-ray. Now.
C'mon Warner... give me Freejack!

And you Dreamworks.... get the hell on the ball with the Haunting. What's the hold up?

Fox... Strange Days... True f***ing Lies.... the Abyss. Titan A.E. Get with it!

Paramount... Indy... nuff said. Virtuosity would be pretty cool while you're at it.

Sony... start putting the damn trailer of the movie in question ON THE DISC.

Whoever is controlling MGM stuff... GoldenEye...do it! Hackers? Wtf? This NEEDS to be out on BD.

Anyone catch Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure on ITV HD on Saturday? I was stunned at how great it looked, this is a new transfer! Must have been prepped for disc.

Jeff

Here we are 1 1/2 years later and not even a rumor on when this may be released on Blu-ray. My wife tried watching the non-anamorphic DVD last night and gave up.

After doing a search of this thread I couldn't believe no one has asked for the release of The Dead Zone (1983) movie. I believe the last attempt by Paramount was a 2006 DVD (Special Collector's Edition) that featured more extras. Yes please, I want The Dead Zone on Blu-ray!

Romantic fantasy from 1998 - City of Angels - starring yesterday's "America's Sweetheart", Meg Ryan.

Geez, this used to be a tent-pole title for Fox. Always on the front line of new releases/formats.

Would KILL to have an uncompressed sountrack on Blu.

Such a great, great flick.

I promise, Fox, if you release this I'll buy multiple copies and give them to friends and family.
