EngadgetHD.com is reporting that if you own a title on DVD and then buy the same title on Blu-Ray you qualify for a $10 rebate. Great promotion for people sitting on the fence who do not want to double dip. Here is the article.

Yes, Customer Service can verify and offer the online price.

yep, did it yesterday for the Rock. I told her it was 19.99 on the website, and I don't think she even verified it before giving it to me. It is Best Buy's policy to match their own online price -- except for certain items. One way to do it would be to print out the website page on the Rock and bring it down to the store.

How does this work. I clicked on the engadget link but there is very little information available. I wish there was a trade in program on all titles in both hi-def formats.

Buy one of the three mentioned movies on Blu-Ray (Con-Air, The Rock, or Crimson Tide), and inside it contains a rebate form. You'll need to cut the UPC (err rather the proof of purchase tab) off of the blu-box, and one from the matching standard DVD. Tape those to the rebate form, get a photocopy of your receipt for the blu-ray, and send it all in for a $10 check.

They always pricematch the website price for me. If they don't, buy it online and do in-store pickup.

Is SIG Electronics usually out of stock on the majority of their items? It's insane; they hardly have anything.

$20 for Con-Air + $5 for SD DVD version in Wal-Mart bin (saw it this weekend) - $10 trade-up rebate = $15

I know, its garbage. I called them and they said they didnt take orders over the phone. I told them I can wait for them to get the stock, just take my order! They refused. Weak!

Really? 'The Rock' and 'Con Air' are $19.99 on BestBuy.com this week, but the stores have them $24.99. Today I exercised my $20 off on three Reward Zone coupon (they would only accept a single coupon -- so much for the $5 Disneys that also expired today) and picked up the above two ($24.99 each) and '3:10 To Yuma' ($29.99.) I overheard a conversation to the effect they would price match to the website, but not also apply coupons. It seems they will accept one discount, but at the exclusion of all others!

Still, bottom line is with the $20 discount, the total price came to a smidgeon better than my old Amazon 10% . (I really miss that 10% )

Yeah, I picked up the Rock and saw the $24.99 price tag in the store, but remembered it was $19.99 on the website. I was able to get that plus use the $20 off three discs -- although I should mention this was my first good Best Buy visit in a long time. The price matching should not affect the coupons. I would print out the online pages of the Rock and Con-Air, bring em to the Best Buy, and get them price matched, and $10 back.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll probably give it a whirl tomorrow! It was dissapointing to lose the ten dollars in Disney coupons, and the price match would restore that!

I earlier tried to use the $20 Reward Zone coupon online, but couldn't find a way to enter it !

Did you PM the op?
You can get those same Best Buy BDs for less via Amazon. Go to their movies page, then DVD, then Blu-ray and you should see the deal in the top-right corner. If not, refresh the page and it should come up. AVS scrambles the link when I post it.

I am from Canada and had never heard of Sigs until their link was posted here. Which leaves me wondering if they got the AVS equivalent of being Slashdoted when the link was posted here.

So is "The Rock" a Disney movie? I was looking online and it seems like it is.. I have a $10 Rewardzone certificate at bestbuy, otherwise I wouldn't be bothering w/ them.. Can I use the disney coupon to lower the $20 price? Thanks!

I just picked up The Rock and Con-Air from Wal-Mart. Each title was $18.96, I used 2 $5 Disney coupons. Out the door for $30.38, plus on own each of them on DVD, so I'll qualify for $20 in rebates, to effectively make each title $5.19

Also if the retailer will scan the coupon for you it doesn't matter if the title is Disney or not. Worked with Casino Royale last week.
I'll wait $10 each!
Anybody know if the 5 free by mail deal will continue after the 31st?

Good luck with that!

I fought my battle yesterday with them and lost. Now I have a phone call to Disney's marketing department to clear the air on who is participating and who isn't. It seemed like when they scanned my $5 coupon, it came as "invalid" - go figure
