Blockbuster BD rental discussion thread

Click on a link below to add the title to your queue. If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to sign in. New titles will be added below as they become available. All known Blu-ray titles are listed in the second post. If you find any errors in the links or missing titles, let me know.

Thanks to foots for the original Blockbuster thread and Blu-ray.com for the list of available and upcoming titles.



Tips:
1) Put BD movies releasing next week at the top of your queue and return envelopes to the store on Sunday. New releases are easiest to get right away and it may take several weeks to a few months to get new releases if you miss this opportunity.

2) Only put BD titles in your queue or keep SD titles at the bottom. SD titles are much easier to get in the store so you're best off using your in-store exchanges to rent them.

3) Request a title by clicking on the link provided and do the following:

Choose "BLOCKBUSTER.COM Website Feedback"
Enter "Request a Movie Title" in the Subject
If you are logged in all of your other information will be filled in for you.
In the provided space request your movie title and be sure to specify that you want the title in Blu-ray format.

4) Title Availability is based on an average availability across all distribution centers. This means that you may not receive an "Available" title because it is not available at your distribution center. Likewise, a title with a "Long Wait" or "Very Long Wait" may ship because it is available at your distribution center.

5) Blockbuster will first look at the top three titles in your queue. If those are not available, no titles will ship that day. The following day, if the top three titles are still not available, the next six titles will be considered for shipping. link

I tried calling BB online about my question, but got nowhere. When I add 3:10 to Yuma to my queue the description says Blu-Ray next to it, but in the format column it says DVD, not BD. So if that title ships, I'm not sure whether I'll get a BD or a SD DVD.

I've seen this happen with a couple of other titles as well. The BB online lady was trying to tell me this was a studio issue, but that makes no sense to me. Yes the studio controls what format they release movies in, but in the queue I'd think the title description should match the media format. No?

P.S. Great work on the new movie listings!!

I received 3:10 to Yuma and it was indeed the Blu-Ray version despite it saying DVD in the first column in my queue.

Yep. The queue will frequently state DVD for the format. Just look for "[Blu-ray]" in the title to know which version it is.

Thanks. Many of the titles don't currently have links. Basically if a title on Blockbuster.com has a different name than on Blu-ray.com, then it'll be missing the link. I'm working on fixing them now.

I've added links to all of the titles that were missing links before. If the title had multiple disks available I added the additional disks as a separate link. I also added the Coming Soon section in the first post.

If there is no cover image available for it in the BD format, then it will list DVD in your queue and [Blu-Ray] next to the movie.

Same here. Actually ONE movie out of the dozen or so I added is "available."

Any idea if they Email you the "FREE Rental" coupon or is it on the site somewhere? I'd like to have something to watch tonight.

Click the "My Account" link on any page and there'll be a button on the right side to print your coupon.

With only a month trial you'll be hard pressed to get your 12 titles. With in-store exchanges my max is 15/month. However I've "throttled" myself to 3/week in order to get the new releases each week. I'd suggest adding a bunch more to your queue.

hmm this is funny

when i click at blockbuster.com and click on start free trial it asks me all my information but till end of the process no mention about anything free (1 month or anything free).
i called my local BB and guy told me i need a code to enter before registration process.
So wtf,why they have that option "start free trial" and then ask me for my billing info and at the end no mention of anything free!
do i miss something?

I signed up with a code and got four free weeks and $19.99/mo for 3 out at a time and unlimited in-store exchanges. But like you, it didn't say anything about a free trial period.

With a code per my original post. I posted the code on slickdeals.net a few weeks ago. Do a search on blockbuster and it should pull it up. No idea if it still works or not.

I added Initial D... when I went to "My Queue" to look for it,
it's listed as "Initial D[Blu-ray]" but if I look a little to the right,
it says "DVD" ..... ??? This is also happening with a couple
of other movies in my queue.... "3:10 to Yuma[Blu-ray]" also
says "DVD" under for "format" column......

does anybody know if I'll be receiving the BD or DVD?

I don't mean to be rude, but this thread is less than one page long and the answer is here. I wouldn't say anything if the thread was pages long (I know the search function doesn't work well in this forum), but it's just one page.
