Something strange happened to my account. This morning about 10+ movies that were in my queue were bumped down to the "Net yet Available" window with unknown release dates. These are titles which were shipping, such as several Discovery Atlas discs. It wasn't this way last night.

Ideas?

I've had that happen a couple of times but they were legit release date changes.

But these were "old" titles that I've had in my queue for a while. Many were 'very long wait'. Seems odd that 10-15 unrelated titles all of a sudden were pulled from my queue.

Same thing happened to me for previously available and somewhat old releases. I sent an email to BB.

I also had a bunch of movies move to Unknown release date, including the upcoming Cloverfield and There Will Be Blood blu-ray movies, but also older blu-ray movies like Alexander and Gods and Generals.
how is the following statement accurate, when indeed a few days ago many of my titles had a "short wait" status? And now, they show unavailable?

From BB cust. support:

I'm sorry but we weren't able to secure any copies of that title so we've updated the wait status accordingly. If the movie is released again by the manufacturer, we'll be sure to purchase copies and make it available for rental once more. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Ya that makes no sense. The manufacturer is clearly still making the copies, so I can't see how BB can't obtain them.

Almost the same type of response here:

Once the movie becomes available we will ship it to you as soon as possible. We suggest you try to have 15 or more AVAILABLE movies in your queue to ensure there are no delays in shipments. Availability of movies can change from day to day and we do not want you to have any disruption in service.

I had Rambo 4 move to Unkown. It was listed as Very Long Wait and the next day it went down to the releases outside of 2 weeks and now says unknown. I am in Naperville too by the way.

anyone know how to add the other dirty harry films?? The only one I could find was the regular DH, and the list on page 1 has three dirty harry links - but all of them point to just the first movie.

They haven't added the other titles yet so I've just linked all of the collections to Dirty Harry. If they ever show up I can add them.

Now it says that Semi Pro and The Eye are both unknown for the release date. Meet The Spartans says available. I don't get it. This has never happened with Blockbuster before. I wonder if they aren't getting any copies in or something. I called my local Blockbuster store and they did, however, say that they will be getting Semi Pro in on Blu-ray tomorrow so I don't know what to think.

This seems to be affecting everyone. Hopefully they get it cleared up soon.

Yep this is happening to everyone
if they keep this up for much longer I might just switch to 100% instore for 24.99$
I haven't recevied a BR movie in a month(everything on DVD) about 10 titles in my que have been moved to "unavalible" and BB is not even showing new releases like Rambo "avalible"...almost every new BR is under save status
WTF is going on!!!!!

this all seems very odd considering my local store is getting stacks of new BR releases every week

This started happening with me with the Rambo release. Rambo, Semi Pro and The Eye are all listed as unknown. This really puzzles me considering I went to BB today and saw 6 copies of Semi Pro left on Blu-ray so I just exchanged a rented disc I had. I only have 3 in store changes a month though so if they aren't going to send me any movies through the mail anymore then I will cancel.

Also, this seemed to happen to me when I downgraded to 2 at a time (I used to have 3 at a time). So, I don't know if its just the plan I have or if everyone is having issues. I am not sure what other peoples plans are, but this is terrible. I always thought BB was really good at sending me out new releases and now they seem to not be getting them in stock.

Is there a cheaper in store plan or is it just 1 plan for $24.99?

here's what to do my friend/ friends....... I just order the junk SD dvd's from BB online, and then exchange them from my local 3 blockbusters. I have the 5 dvd plan, but each store is INDEPENDANT, therefore, you will have 5 exchanges per store/month!!!

That's some good info. I'll have to put that into the tips.

I stopped after work and was able to get the last Eye and second to last Rambo. Got home to update the queue and it looks like just about all of them have gone back to the top part of the queue. YMMV

I also keep the recipt so I can keep track of the number of exchanges per store, so I won't get embarrased trying to go past the 5th rental
post #176 of 4010
Thankfully I'm on the unlimited in-store exchange plan for $19.95 so I don't have to go store shopping to exchange videos every other day. I do agree that stores seem to be beating BB online in new releases. My store had like 10 copies of Rambo.

I thought about that plan also, but there are just too many SD titles that are very hard to find in the local B&M rental joints. Plus, I can still rent the HD DVD's online as well! ;D

Thats a good idea. I have the 2 out at a plan and have 3 in store exchanges a month. I will have to try this. I was not aware this was 3 per every BB. I just thought it was total.

Thanks for the tip!

Just be careful of the franchise stores. They do not have the one week grace periods and feel as though they do not have to comply with the corporate store rules.

Thanx Chix, the BB's in my are all have the one week grace period, and believe me, with a infant, I do take advantage quite often due to lack of time to fully watch the film. Grrrr
