Hey guys I just switched over to BB Total Access, 3 at a time, unlimited in store exchanges from Netflix.

I'm a little confused at how the in-store exchanges work.

Say I get 3 movies in the mail and exchange them in the store. Will BB scan the mailer, and mail out the next 3 movies in my queue the next day? So now that I have 3 in-store rentals in my hand, will I have 3 more coming automatically? Or will they NOT ship until I return the in-store rentals?

Can I possible have 6 movies at home?
it is all possible in the above scenrio........ you will recieve immediate credit when you submit your mail to the blockbuster instore. I have myself had at one time 6 movies at the same time

Actually you can have more than six out. If you keep your store rentals for several days and return your second set of three mailers, you can have 9 or more out at once.
I exchanged my mailer for an in-store rental last night at 9:00pm PST. As of 11:49AM this afternoon my queue still hasn't reflected it as "returned". Is this normal behavior?

Should my queue change when they scan the mailer, or after it gets returned through the mail?

should be instant! I've had that happen before and I had to report it as being returned.

It should indicate "received at store" shortly after they've scanned it. They'll then ship the next available movies from your queue. When the online store acdtually receives the movie then it will be cleared from your queue and you'll get the email notification that it's been received.

It won't hurt to contact support and see what they say about it.

not to elaborate more, but.... I have exchanged my mail discs at 2 different blockbuster locations so instead of 5 in store a month, i get 10

So, quite pheasably, a guy could theoriticaly have out 13 (if my math is correct) at one single time

If the perfect sceneriao played out and the timing is perfect

Hi shabre,

Are you are saying you get 5 in store exchanges per store per month

WOW, so you go to store #1 at the start of the month and exchange a movie and at the bottom of your receipt it says 1 exchange for the month.

Now you go to store #2 and do one exchange and at the bottom of the receipt it still says 1 exchange for the month.

May I get a confirmation on this?

TIA,

Larry

I can confirm that it works this way for me. I'm on the 1-movie-out, 2 in-store exchanges per month plan. Exchanges are tracked per-store, so using 2 stores I get 4 exchanges per month.

Thank you AccidenT.

I would have never thought of this. I have two stores within 2 miles of my home. I love the AVS Forum.

I signed up for BB total access last month and rented quite a few movies. This month I've noticed my shipments are lagging. For instance I'll usually return all 3 of my movies over the weekend at the nearby Blockbuster Store. On monday I only get 1 movie shipped out to me. Nothing on tuesday, wed or Thurs, even though they show as "returned in-store" on my queue. What the heck??

Is this a known technique with BB?

EDIT: I guess I am, just found this article.

wrinklefree, I agree with you. Shipments have slowed down and Blu-ray titles are the slowest. Here is what I do, if a title is not here by the day BB tells me in My Queue, I ask BB to send the next available title to me. The late title usually arrives the next day and my next in queue title arrives between one or two days later.

Also, keep your "available titles" to a high level..I try to have at least 10. Finally, if you are on a limited number of in-store exchanges and you have a second BB store relatively close by, use the max number of exchanges at both stores.

You can keep on doing that? Lets say a title lists to ship the 2nd and arrival date is the 4th. Well, if you don't get it on the 4th you report it at the end of the day? I thought we had to wait a few business days at least before reporting it. You think they would catch on to people doing that.

I have also experienced shipments slowing down. I tried to address it, but they (BB) says I need to keep more than a few "available" titles in my queue.

The bottom line is they used to ship to your allotment "most" of the time the next business day. Now it takes a few days.

It is as if they have set the computer to not ship out more than one or two titles on a given day, especially Monday's.

I've been noticing the same thing. No more than 2 will ship on the same day but usually only 1.

Hi DJMatt,

I would report it, first thing in the morning, on the 5th. My regular mail delivery is at 4pm. Another day lost to BB if I wait and no movie arrives in the mail.

I have had several titles never make it to me or they were never shipped by BB , who knows. So now, if you wait another couple of days before telling BB you might go an entire week without a movie and nothing to exchange at the store.

Also, I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong. If BB has the right to limit how many titles they are sending for my "Unlimited" through the mail account, when they or their service provider (USPS) are late or lost it, I should have a replacement sent ASAP. It is my choice to have them send the same movie or the next in line. I also find that the replacement title arrives faster than the their normal flow.

On average, this occurs about once a month, so I'm not doing this very often. When I signed up 18 months ago, BB made a big deal of the "Unlimited" titles through the mail. It is another example of how business today is all about marketing one thing and "crossing their fingers" in the small print.

I think I am going to try the trial offer. However, is there a minimum time period once I actually sign up? I want to do the 19.99 3 at a time deal.
