Is nice they did this in one way, but in another way I still think its misleading. I haven't ever had this issue with Netflix. Blockbuster still lists these unknown and unavailable titles with an availability date. If they aren't going to carry it or are not sure then they should list it as unknown before the release date. When a title moves from the saved portion of the queue into the main queue I expect that disc to be ready for shipping on release date or at the very least expect some sort of wait for it. I can't stand this anymore. Every week there is at least 1 or 2 titles that are unknown or unavailable. It does not make much sense what Blockbuster is doing. They give us an availability date, then 2 weeks prior to release they add it to our main queue only for them to move it back down into the saved portion of the queue again. Its frustrating and this has to end.

Wait how is that possible when BB has your records on file? whenever I try to go back they recognize you and so the free trial thing is for 1st timers only.

I have had a couple accounts with them. I have my main account and then they were offering up a free trial at the local store and they said it didn't really matter if I am a current or old subscriber that I could still get the free trial and all I had to do was use a different e-mail address and CC to sign up with. They gave me the link to get 2 months for free if you want it. PM me if you do and I will send over the link.

I gave them another chance and now I'm canceling AGAIN! BB just can't seem to get their act together so I think I'm done. It's just too hit or miss for me.
Dang. I was thinking of coming back to catch some titles that BB carried on blu-ray that netflix doesn't.

But now all of those in my queue are unavailable for some reason (ie To Live and Die in LA)...

I have a plan without Total Access. That is the same price as the Netflix 3 at a time plan.

Is there some way in Netflix to see DVDs releasing this week/next week/last week like in BB? The Netflix "New Releases" is kind of useless.

http://www2.netflix.com/AllNewReleas...AllNewReleases

It updates each Sunday for the following week. There's no link on the Netflix page like there used to be - you just have to know.

WTF?!?! I have six available titles and its been two days they processed all of my returned discs and they have yet to send me the next ones.

Time for bye-bye.

I was surprised by BB this week. They sent me out Underworld: Awakening and another new release on Monday and I actually received them yesterday. Which is not the norm. It usually takes two days to receive the titles. Blockbuster may have just earned themselves another month from me. If there are enough new titles coming out over the next few weeks to make it worth it. Although My free month doesn't end for two more weeks.

It seems, at least for me, that if they ship something out Monday I will have it on Tuesday. Any other days a movie is shipped I have to wait 1 extra day to get it which still isn't too bad. I wish it was next day all the time.

Chronicle, set to release tomorrow, just fell into the great black unknown hole. It was listed as "available" until about 5 minutes ago.

I had Hell On Wheels in my queue and it moved to the unavailable/unknown list this morning. Why even list it if you're not going to carry it? Pretty poor on BBV's part. The really sad thing is that stuff missing from BB Online can be found at my local Family Video store. I picked up Disc 1 of Wrestlemania XXVIII last night. That release isn't even found on BB Online's site. And since Hell On Wheels is an AMC series, I'm sure it will be available on Netflix streaming within a couple of months. Honestly, if I wasn't getting the discs with my BB@Home basically for free, I wouldn't keep it.

Thats what I have been saying is why list it of your not even going to carry it. Its very misleading to the customer. They should list it as unknown or available as soon as they know they won't be receiving any copies into stock. Its frustrating. I too have Hell on Wheels in my queue. Looks like they will not be carrying this. They never got season 1 of The Killing either. Looking ahead it looks like no season 4 of Breaking Bad and no Blu-ray version of season 4 of True Blood (at least they don't give us the option to add the Blu-ray version to our queue's if they plan on not carrying it). Dexter season 6 can't be added to the queue either. As of right now the site isn't even working. Its loading extremely slow and I can't even get into my account right now. They have a lot of issues to work out and fix. It seems to me that Dish is not putting any extra money into the operation in areas that need it. Then to make matters worse, Chronicle is not available which is a little surprising considering this is a well known and somewhat popular movie.

Chronicle shows in search and was available when I added it to check.
Has anyone had problems trying to log into their account today? I have not been able to get past the home page. I get there, click sign in and it just stays on a constant load and then I get a warning. Pretty sure they are getting hacked.

I didn't have any problems yesterday and just now logged on without any problems. I know the Dish Online site can be pretty finicky, but I've never had problems with the BB site.

Noticed it's now back but they've skipped it over and sent me something way from the bottom (although 1-3 are showing as "available").

Cancelled a while back, but resigned after receiving an email wanting me back and offering a one month free trial. Looks like I'll be hitting the cancel button once again. It hasn't improved any at all. Still 95% of my queue is "long wait" or down in the unknown black hole. Sad.

I can't figure out their pattern. I can usually get NRs with a Saturday return, but they've been skipping the same available ones for some time. I suspect they skip ones that are at my "local" store. My local store is a 30 mile round trip

So many titles I want have gone to the unknown category that I am quitting. Again. Just not worth it.

Chronicle is listed as available in my queue now. Hopefully they will send it out soon.

I don't think they take your local store into account. When they list a title as available that means that is a general status for the movie across all of the warehouses they ship movies from. Its a possibility that movie could be available 2,000 miles away, but at your distribution center you live closest to it may not be. Yes, it definitely is annoying, but this is how it is done I believe.

Blockbuster suddenly remembered that I was a customer after three weeks of me wondering if they had gone out of business. To make up for this absence (I guess), they sent me an extra disc with no explanation. I'd rather have the consistent reliable service of Netflix but thanks, Blockbuster.

Blockbuster has done a good job overall during my free month of the three out plan. After getting off to a rough start they have done very well for the last week and a half. I will continue to subscribe but drop it down to the 1 out plan. Since there are plenty of titles coming out for the next few weeks I will use it to supplement my Netflix rentals. I'll keep it for a couple of paying months and then re-evalulate.
Well, I cancelled tonight after using Blockbuster by mail for 5 years. They were fine for new releases until they finally went under. Its been rather bad since DISH but did improve for awhile. I had the 3 out at time for $16.99. Its a OK price but I need to get something and I received one movie in the last 2 weeks. Plus the month before wasn't very good either.

Emailed them many times and they always answer but just the usual Canned talk. They gave me credit for 2 weeks free at times, but I just finally decided I'd had it with them.

That's to bad and now I'll have to Rely on Redbox and a local video store. I was a member at Netflix for quite some time also. but finally quit because of extremely slow for new releases and back then Blockbuster worked well. I'm unsure about NetFlix now and also they agreed to that 60 day delay, but at least RedBox didn't for Warner.

The small independent store that is close to me buys from Walmart for any of the delayed Titles. But they only get a few Blu-ray in right now because they are a used bookstore also, but its better than nothing I guess. Vudu's HDX is ok but not Blu-ray and DD+ isn't HD audio. Also for $6.00 I'd almost consider buying the disc and trying to resell. But I hate the fact the Motion picture crowd might cause me to buy when I'm only interested in a few movies they make.

I have to wonder if Blockbuster by mail will ever work well because of DISH promoting it for their Satellite service, and almost giving away the one out at a time plan to Dish customers.

This is new for me - maybe addressing common complaint. I added the BD and got the below.

I have never seen that before, but it would be nice if they did this for all future titles that are not released. This way we know ahead of time if they actually plan on carrying a certain title on Blu-ray. Then it will be easier setting things up on a week to week basis to know what I need to do to rent a specific movie on Blu-ray.

I was surprised BB shipped Chronicle to me today. I didn't add it to my queue until after it was released and it was showing a wait. But BB surprised me again and shipped the BD to me.

I'm curious if they will keep this up once the free month is over and I start paying them some money again.

It's seemed as if they were a different company the last couple of weeks.

So I had True Blood season 4 added to my queue. It was added as DVD sicne there was no Blu-ray option, but just today they added Blu-ray, however, when you switch it to Blu-ray or add it to your queue it shows up as 7 discs. This is very strange. It seems to me that this would be the combo pack if you were to buy it. I hope they fix this before it comes out. I definitely don't want to be shipped the DVD.

I surprisingly got shipped out a copy too. I won't get it until Monday or Tuesday, but its good to see. The true test is what you mentioned such as how will they treat your account once you start paying. In my experiences over the last several months is that the service is better during your free trial. Kind of like when you go to a new restaurant that everyone is raving about. The portions are usually pretty big, but after they get you and you have been there a time or two those portions suddenly become a bit smaller.

So yesterday I got this...

Yeah, thanks for that. I appreciate knowing I can't rent it, even though it's available to rent.
