Am I missing something, or does BB not have The Matrix on Blu-Ray? I can only find the second and third movies. But I really want to hear the lobby and helicopter scene in HBR audio!
??? The Matrix and sequels aren't available on Blu-Ray. They were released on HD DVD though.
Speaking of HD DVD, I was in BB last night and noticed that they're selling their stock of HD DVD. It looked like they were all 2 for $20. I never bought into HD DVD but maybe someone else would be interested.

I heard a rumor that starting April 1 that the studios would let BB and NetFlix purchase many more copies of Blu-Ray movie. I guess they had limited the amount they could purchase to help encourage people to buy them instead of rent. The rumored limit was 2,000 copies per title.
Does anyone know if this is true, and if we can expect BB to buy more copies and reduce the wait times for popular titles?
my 1st month at blockbuster was outstanding. I was getting movies shipped nearly immediately after returning to the store or the day after I shipped.
seriously, i was getting about 5-6 movies per week (shipped).
now in the last 2 weeks they have only sent me 3 movies.
is blockbuster pulling a bait and switch on me? after the 1st month I will only get 6-8 movies per month?
I've been a customer since December, and quite literally watch one movie a night. I do about 16 in store exchanges a month, and 99% of the time they ship movies out the next day. No throttling for me whatsoever. I'm a happy camper!
Make sure you have 30+ movies in your queue and in the top 10 make sure the majority of them are 'available.'

I am in the 3rd week of my free trial (3 at a time plan)and noticed lately that eventhough the movies shipped from blockbuster at the same time, I will get one movie a day for the next three days. This week, I've rec'd 1 movie for 3 discs that were mailed out Last Monday. I won't be renewing.

I'm not sure I believe the 2,000 number that seems pretty low. But limiting the number of rentals to stimulate sales is likely.
Not sure if anyone else knows but is new to me. If you go to My Account, they have a section titled Disc Format Preference Settings where you can set your high def preference. Now in your queue you'll have a drop down box if the title is available in other formats which is similar to Netflix.

I am really glad to hear this. I was a Total Access subscriber for a long time (actually started with the unlimited in-store only program back in 2002), but not having this feature was a pain. I ended up going back to Netflix, but I am really heated at them for the super-duper long waits. At least with BB, I can get something in-store.
I also noticed that you can drag & drop movies in your queue to reorder. And the Blu-ray collection list now has a 500 movie cap and includes coming soon titles.

Whoohoo! I think that's a new feature..just updated my preferences. Thanks!

This is a new feature of the redesigned blockbuster site, effective this week.
Thanks for letting everyone know!
Blu-ray.com changed their webpage format so I wasn't picking up changes for a while. I was wondering why there weren't any updates from them recently.

This question is regarding Disc Format Preference Settings. I selected Blu-ray and my #1 choice and DVD as #2. If I now select a DVD title into my Queue, and a week later Blockbuster makes the same title available in Blu-ray, will my Queue automatically update the title to Blu-ray, or do I have to make the change manually?
My guess is that the preference is only applied at the time you add a title to the queue. Once its there you would have to manually change the preference.
I've emailed Blockbuster with this question and they can't seem to give me an answer. Can someone else please also try contacting them to get an answer?
It seems logical that my Queue would automatically be updated the title to Blu-ray when it becomes available, but maybe that's too much to ask for.
I think I remember seeing an option when setting that option, to change the titles already in the queue (and it shows a list of the titles that can be changed), but I don't think it will change it automatically once that title is available in Blu-Ray
"Unfortunately, the movie in your queue will not automatically update. If you already added a regular DVD into your queue, you have to manually add the Blu-Ray version of that movie. If there is anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact us again and we will be happy to help you."
