NEW OFFICIAL - Special buys, Discounts and deals thread. All Deals Go here! - Page 97

I stopped by my local CC(Sterling, VA) tonight after work in search of some HD deals. Nothing rang up with any discounts. I passed on a couple of titles. They wouldn't price match BB either. I did find out that they would take back my A3 after the 30 day period though.

You might get it much faster than that. It said the same thing on friday when I ordered and it shipped today.

Just Wondering
Thanks

A week ago the local Wal-Mart had the great idea of putting HD-DVDs and BDs behind locked glass cases - and cut back on the total number of movies they stock in each format to about a dozen. So now you need assistance to just browse.

With them being shrink wrapped and magnet theft strip inside, Wal-Mart must just think they are too desirable and pilferable.

As a result, I have given up on WM for my HD media.

I ordered Planet Earth from Amazon and got it in 4 days after I placed my order however that is partly because I'm only a state away. Still really quick processing and everything overall.

They've been like that over here since they started carrying them.

You're very lucky. Most everyone has been waiting 2-3 weeks.

I got my local best buy store to price match best buy.com . I picked up 9 of the $10.49 movies. Going to another tomorrow for more.

Amazon

Shopping at Amazon now-a-days has become a routine part of life similar to buying apples or milk from convenient store.

If your daughter knows the story then you should absolutely take it back and pay for the movie.

If was just you involved you're probably too old to learn from this so I would say keep it.

Mine did get canceled late last night. I am going to be surprised if they ship a single one to anyone. Thing they are just taking their time to cancel all the orders to make it "look better."

I'm still thinking it was some kind of pricing error or something and this is their way of getting out of it.

But I guess it doesn't matter, because stores don't really have to honor pricing errors although they seem to a lot in the US because of PR reasons.

I'm sure you're getting cancelled. I agree there's no way that they shipped a single unit out at that price. Was kind of strange that every other HD-DVD was really overpriced at the time of that sale too, they were all at least $29AUD. It did say something to the effect of "This is not a misprint - low, low price" when you did a search for the item from the search box.
Makes me wonder how many of us ordered one, I looked last night and it's not even on the site anymore that I saw. Trust me, I was the first one here to order it - I ordered it, checked out and THEN I posted the link to the page here. Looks like I was the first one to get the "order cancelled" e-mail too.
Anyways, I'm really sorry for getting everyones hopes up - it seemed legit and I'm sure it is but they definitely pulled some monkey business with this pricing. This still remains the only must-have on HD-DVD for me, BBC Planet Earth under $30.

Weinstein titles are $8.95 now (though, oddly enough, not Pulse)

Same here. I ordered planet earth and like 2 or 3 days later I had it. Didn't pay too much for it either.

I was wondering why my credit card wasn't charged yet from jbhifi

Just write them an e-mail and tell them you plan on never shopping with them again, not that you were ever going to anyway.

Mine is STILL in process, though I am 95% sure you're right... Oh well, I can live without PE, so unless I find it SOMEWHERE for around $30-35(max), I'm not picking it up..
