Just picked up five titles at Frys. Forbidden Planet (not available anymore on Amazon) and Zodiac for $11.99 were too good to pass-up. Also bought The Searchers and Black Snake Moan for only $8.99 each. Had to pay shipping and sales tax, but still a good deal. And I thought I was finished adding to my collection!

I already have it on HD-DVD, but that's a solid price on Zodiac--I don't think I've seen it listed that low before anywhere. The shipping kills it though, unless you are buying it along with a few other titles. It's a great movie and a great HD-DVD.

Went by the site and it said that Forbidden Planet will be available again for sale on October 6. Though I'm sure you can get it at the $9.99 price today and just wait till its shipped on the 6th.

I "really" wanted Forbidden Planet but I already placed an order with Amzon for 7 movies, 5 of which were free with my HD-DVD player $50 rebate.
I hope another sale is in the works!

I got an email from DD today regarding my Ultimate Matrix that I ordered about a month ago. They advise still on backorder, email if I'm no longer interested. Think there's any chance they will actually get this one in?

It's not in hi def on bluray either.

actually yes the Animatrix IS being put in HD for the Blu release.

Heck, DD doesn't know if/when they'll get these in again, how would anyone here be able to tell? I'm waiting too, hoping they find some in the distribution chain somewhere.

In the meantime I think that notifying mailorder customers of backorder situations >30days ("do you want us to keep your order active?") is a Postal Service requirement, or maybe FTC or some such. Some companies are better about this than others. I think after another 30 days has passed they'll owe us another email...

haha i guess i got carried away. 5.99 isn't that painful. pulse for 3.99 isn't that great a deal either. that's a bad one. but hey 4bucks for an hddvd.

ya, thats pretty steep for shipping but if i had gone over to frys.com they would have charged me tax and shipping and the prices were15-25% higher.

I thought I saw about 20 of these at Fry's for under $10. Sounds like some profit taking is in order.
