Great price...But tell me this please...I have the PE Discovery channel edition...Just EXACTLY what would I gain by getting the BBC edition other than it being narrated by a different person???
^the discovery edition has that behind the scenes footage of how they've captured certain shots. and sigourney weaver as narrator. david attenborough narrates the bbc version and is missing that extra footage.
you prob. wont gain anything by picking this up.

I had thought I read the BBC had an extra disc or something...Thanks...I love the Discovery edition so I don't feel I am missing anything...I'd rather hear a pretty girl talk more than some dude...

If I remember correctly, doesn't the UK edition have both the extra features and David Attenborough? I'm not sure if this is the US or UK (I own the US with Attenborough and it doesn't have the extra footage).

the bbc version has a much better transfer while missing the features the discovery channel version has

AND they discuss things in terms of meters and kilometers instead of feet and miles. Darned base-10 die-hards!
BBC is the original. US version is cut to allow commercials, so you're getting a shorter condensed version with Sigourney narrating. BBC does not have any featurettes and the transfer is NOT noticeably better. If you have never seen the BBC version, you will not notice or mind the missing footage. I watched the Discovery version first, sold it and got the BBC version.

That doesn't bother me as much as saying 100 kilometers and then talk about ounces or miles per hour Stick to one already
