I'm new to this forum.
I'm french and have a real passion for this support!
My goal... to have all the HD DVDs in the world (except Norbit)

The Inetvideo.com deal is really great.
I managed to get several HDs which were missing to my collection
And really cheap!!

But I have a question: Do you know a way to buy japanese HD DVDs?

Without using yahoo auctions.
There is a link on this forum for a japanese retailer but it's way too expensive and you can't find everything...
Xploitedcinema is also too expensive for me...

It's a shame you can't find second hand japanese or cheaper HDs out there (such as american, german, english or french ones)

Chiming in here for the iNetVideo sale.. Got lots of HDDVDs for $47 worth shipped so I'm happy 24 hours left to the cyber monday sale:

Was at Bed Bath and Beyond with the wife last weekend and they had some HD DVD/DVD combos for $8. Very surprised to see them in store. Picked up Assassination of Jesse James.

OK, now we know: HD DVD has hit absolute rock bottom...

Thankfully the images & sounds are still first-rate!

Yup! I threw in an HD DVD over the weekend (We Were Soldiers) and thought to myself that, yeah, it's a dead format, but I'm still enjoying it.

Guys... there's a THREAD for that. But it's interesting that it's so dead that it gets posted in the BR forum instead. Thanks for the heads up. I have 3 HD DVD players.

Is this one of those one day sales that iNet has been running? Their price changes are getting as annoying as Amazon's.

"Smallville Season 6" and "The Sopranos Season 6 Part 2" for $4.99 each (plus shipping) at Inet Video: http://www.inetvideo.com/HD%20DVDs/H...n=MarchMadness. Shame they don't have "Season 6 Part 1" for "The Sopranos" or I'd pounce on that puppy today.

Amazon seller, PT Enterprises has around 50 HD DVD titles for $0.99 + $3 shipping, which is an okay price. However, time to time, they run specials where you get 3 for free after the purchase of 3.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/shops/storefront/index.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sellerID=A3VLCEWH8J3DHH

You need to place the order then contact the seller with the free titles. I got the confirmation email back after a few hours.

I updated the link but does not take you to the seller when you click on it for some reason. Need to copy & paste the link.

My local Blockbuster has quite a few HD DVD's for $1.00 ea. They do not have the original cases however, nor the artwork. But, for a buck, not a bad deal until I saw the above post's with same price levels for brand new films.

INet video has lowered its prices and claims it's shelves are near-empty. Here's a link to the entire stock from lowest-priced ($0.99 "Norbit" anyone? ) to highest (those 10-Packs): http://search.inetvideo.com/search?p...w=grid&cnt=300. No free shipping though.

No free shipping is the rub. Shipping is 3x the disc price on some items.

yeah, almost pulled the trigger on grand prix, but it was $3 + 3 s/h. went over to amazon and pieceofmind had it for $5 (i have amazon prime)...cheapest i've seen it there. so deals are still showing up occasionally on amazon too.

They are pricey, but there is a huge collection. A few titles I had not seen before.
Not "huge" at all (unless 192 hits is huge), here's a link with better search terms:

Holy smokes, what's wrong with the pricing on that website? They can't be serious.
I've simply refused to pay anything over like about $5 since I've been collecting these... I'm up to 57 titles at this point and am finding it much harder to located any others I'm interested in.... but there is NO WAY I'd pay anything approaching those prices no matter how much I'd like to have a particular movie in my collection.
In addition to discs normally being more expensive in Japan, the value of the dollar has been extremely weak in the past few years. Plus HD DVD (as well as the 360) had an even worse marketshare in Japan.
just because it is a dead format, doesn't mean all the discs will go for little to nothing.

look at japanese hivision laserdiscs.

Funny thing is THAT is what brought me into HD DVD in the first place. I started collecting HD DVDs about a month AFTER the war was over... the prices were just too tempting to resist. People were unloading their players and disc at the same time and I thought I'd take advantage of the little to nothing prices. Well, apparently the 'liquidation sale' is over... at least in Japan anyway... apparently the only ones left now are the hard-core die-hard collectors.
The only sensible reason to pay those prices all-the-way from Japan is that they have a movie you can't live without and can't get anywhere else. I think of 192 listings only a (small) handful (outside of the travelogue type discs) are unique and not available here.
