Not sure what you mean by "plant." Yes, the producers sent him through knowing his "act," but it's not like they cast him in the part and told him to do it. Anyway, I think you're taking him too seriously. He wasn't a real stalker, just a dude trying to get face time on tv by singing a funny song. Real stalkers don't think they're stalkers.

Just curious what's going on with your images? They look interlaced and they are not 720x1280.

I think when you attach them this way instead of linking to imgshack or something it resized them to 1024x768. I can't figure out why they look interlaced when FOX is progressive either. Maybe Videoredo, don't know. Not a real pro here

It certainly was one of the funniest things I've seen on idol in a long time and am surprised people didn't catch on that he was a comedian. No I don't have proof, but it sounds like some of the comic songs I hear on XM 150.

Seriously this guy is probably going on stage now at comedy clubs sayings "Did you see me on Idol? Here's my song that I sung to Paula Abdul."

The staircasing might be an artifact of the reduction, although I saw odd staircasing when watching the show last season:

I'm not so sure. There were plenty of men who got golden tickets, but as far as showing the "Good" auditions, AI historically likes to show more good female auditions than male.

Out of Philly and Dallas, we probably didn't even see the best males who got golden tickets (Except the end when you see everyone who got a ticket for a half second).

Being that AI has a history of cranking out the same stereotypes of singers, when I see the auditions I am always hoping for:

1.) More dorks or people with gimmicks that can actually sing well. Case in point: the political dork from Oklahoma. He can sing although I bet most of us thought he would suck.

2.) Hate to get racial (but I don't think I am racist), but I want to see black rockers or country musicians. I was pleased when (I think it was Tues) I heard that black guy say he was influenced by Nirvana and other alternative artists, and then when he did "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker, then I was disappointed he sung it as I would expect a typical black R&B singer too. I am hoping to hear more from him in Hollywood though. I really want to see another Cowboy Troy type, or better yet, Lajon_Witherspoon (Lead singer of Sevendust)

A few seasons ago (last time they were in TX I believe, but not Dallas) they had a black female who did country. She got a golden ticket but we didn't even see or hear her in Hollywood week. I'm hoping to see more of that.

3.) Along similar lines, I'd like to see Asians (and I mean all kinds of Asians, oriental, south asian, southeast asian, middle eastern, Russian [east of Urals]) do well and not be a joke like Sanjaya. They are underrepresented in AI.

I know someone who did have a stalker who had to get a restraining order and we were talking about this guy. She saw nothing wrong with it. Different strokes.

My buddy asked if I watched Tuesday nights show in HD. I said no (stayed downstairs and watched the little TV). He told me that Paula had some sheer blouse on and that you could see through it. I didn't even notice what she was wearing, so I didn't have any kind of response other than she must not have known it was see through...

I have to hand it to the creators of the show. Doing 16:9 in the field is really great! Most in the firld reality shows are still in SD.

That's true. But think how lame it would be if television's top-rated program couldn't pony up the cash to produce in 16:9 HD.

Like you said, I am glad they are in 16:9 HD. Now I wish "The Biggest Loser" would get a clue and do the same!

I think the decision the producers of most reality series make to present them in 4:3 SD is the most important reason why I don't watch them. AI, which I do watch, has its weaknesses but PQ is not among them most of the time.
