Complete list of all DVD-AUDIO & SACDs ???

Thread Starter
Is there somewhere a list of all DVD-AUDIO and SACD discs?
I'm trying to shop for some but find it very difficult weeding through all the CDs and DVDs trying to find what I am looking for. It would help if I had a complete list in front of me, then pick what I want and go search/find it.
So where is the best place to find these fomats for the best price too?

Any help in greatly appreciated

I was just going to recommend that DVDA link!

Not fancy, but gets the job done. Which is better than nothing.
Creative Labs (sound cards) has a DVDA link with about 750 titles listed as well. If I find it I'll post it.

Edit: here's another one

and a nice page on Creative website explaining DVD-Audio for any noobies out there.

Edit 2: Found the page from Creative! Mind you that this list was generated when the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 was released. So there were a few more titles added after this came out.

Trivia Bonus: If you bought a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 they 1) play DVD-Audio on your computer and 2) probably included a music sample disk of various artists produced by our friend at AIX! Or at least mine did. not sure about later sound cards released by Creative after that model. I can provide a picture and track list for my particular soundcard purchase if anyone is interested.

Siriuslycold,

It was late last night (for me) when I posted. Are you the the creator of the DVDA registry?

tiggers, yup

if you register you can help add new releases (or old releases that aren't in the DB)

SiriouslyCold,

Nice work!

ah, thanks

This would be a great sticky for this forum I think. We could add titles, say where we bought them on line perhaps linking.

I for one, having almost no knowledge of this ,would really appreciate you guys starting such a list.

Cool. I'll be unpacking my DVD-A collection and see if I have anything I can add that way. I know the first thing I will add, info on the UK version of Night at the Opera. It has different manufacturing identification info than the US version. I'll dig it out when I get home today. If you don't want duplicates like that on your site, let me know.

tiggers,

I have some duplicates - Japanese/European versions etc, so its cool

In fact I might have both the US and UK versions of ANATO ... need to check

what I really need to do is weed out the non DVD-Audio titles (some SACD/DVDVs some Dualdiscs without DVDA)

Here is a good list of DVD-A & SACD titles (excluding stereo SACD) with comments and reviews:

I was personally hoping for a list of presently available available DVD A and SACD titles and best vendor. Looking around this list isn't giant by any means.

I've made a database so its easier to maintain than a flat HTML list or a forum post, and aspire to sa-cd.net

Such a list will be long and duplicate work done by other. A sticky with links to external sites may be better.

For instance, the most complete list of issued SACD titles is at SA-CD.net and is still actively maintained. Presently there are over 5000 SACD registered, with 99 new titles in December 2007 alone.

The owner (Stephen Best, moniker zeus) of the sa-cd.net site does a great job, and any list here on avsforum will be a poor substitute.

Siriusly: Are you no longer maintaining DVD-A Registry?

Another vote for SA-CD.net

I do not recall a master-list of DVD-A out there?

I'm a big fan of sa-cd.net as well. Not only can you reasearch specific SACDs and artists but there are links to purchase SACDs as well. But I can't stress enough to do your homework before buying any SACDs. I have found great buys on ebay, importcds and other places.

Generally speaking regarding the two biggest supporters of DualDisc: Universal (UMG) titles are high rez. Sony's Duals are never high rez (they thought it would compete with their SA-CDs).

Re the OP's question....I use SACD Net but is there a DVD-A equivalent now the DVD-A Registry seems to have disappeared?

Is there also any website that comprehensively lists the growing number of Blu-ray audio releases?
