Question from a newb. I just got done hanging my surrounds on my walls. The wires are now left dangling down the wall. Those things that some people have used to cover the wires....things you can paint over...what are those called and where can I get some?

Thanks!

Can't recall exactly what they're called but you can probably go to Home Depot and someone there will point you in the right direction.

Can't you just drill a hole behind the speaker, remove the base molding under the speaker and drill a hole there.... run the speaker wire down through the wall cavity and then replace the base molding? That way, it's TOTALLY unseen....

you should be able to find some trunking or conduit - whichever name its called by - im using some plastic stuff that looks like this all round my walls - it will be visible - but you can paint it the same color as the wall if you like - or if you like you can dig that bit of the wall and duck it into the wall and then fill it up and repaint

I found some in fred meyer yesterday. Just some cheap plastic cable covers. I think it costs about $10 for every 9 ft kit. But they are paintable and come in a variety of sizes (depending how thick and how many wires you need to run in them).

That would be ideal. However, the base molding would a major PITA to remove.

http://www.wiremold.com - Their stuff is available at most home improvement stores. I know Home Depot and Menard's have a decent selection of their stuff.

Great. Thanks for all the info, everybody. I think I'll head to HD or Menards tomorrow.

This is the type of cord cover im looking for to use for my rear speakers. Is there a specific name for this? im guessing they would have it @ homedepot or lowes.

I like how their thin. Wiremold cover is nice too but i need something thin as this one for the rears.

How about flat wire that can be painted?

That looks like the thin wiremold that you can pick up at Menards. Pretty common stuff... you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.

+1. You should be able to find it at any Lowe's or Home Depot.
