.mkv in Vista Media Center?

Is the only way to get .mkv files to show up in VMC by putting them in the "videos" folder? I tried adding my movies folder from another hard drive to the watch list but they don't show up in VMC.

show up just fine for me, do you have haali mkv splitter installed? Also check out this addon that allows you to control MKV features in VMC

yep, i installed coreavc w/haali, i'll check out the link.

Mine show up in media center using the mymovies plugin. I can also browse them over on my server just fine.
They don't show up in the list of DVD's in media center though.

Well, I tried installing my movies, but i keep getting some error during install and ffdshow does't work well on my computer for some reason, so media control is out of the question too. i guess i just have to rely on renaming the files to .avi

Did you do the necessary registry entry? I remember doing that when I was setting mine up, but it was so long ago.
