Surprisingly, no, no video synching problems at all.

I just bought the Kuro. Wanted to get one before they went away for good. I contemplated waiting for for another manufacturer to meet or exceed the Kuro performance, but it seems that may still be few years away. Besides, aesthetically, the Kuro's simple glossy black bezel is a great match for the glossy black top plate on the WB speakers.

* iTunes on Windows PC + ATV = work needed for bit perfect output

How about just Apple TV with all the music loaded on it, no need for a PC!

That certainly is an option, but you may run out of hard drive space sooner than you think, and there is no way to expand or connect additional HD storage to an ATV.

I store all of my music as Apple Lossless files, and I'm at 250GB for about 500 CDs right now. The ATV is only 160GB max so you'd top out at about 300 CDs.

He could store all of his music as 256KB compressed audio files to save HD space, but I would be concerned with the audio quality going that route.

If he is not storing his music files on another computer or server, he might want to consider a Mac Mini instead of the ATV. This way he could add an external HD as his music library grows. The Mini can be a bit more difficult to set-up for use with a TV, depending on the TV, but it can be done.

yes. I have a buffalo NAS. No PC required. It is also simple to use with multiple zones. Only need one plugged into the network. The next one will automatically find the first over a proprietary network. First one is hooked up to the system, second one is in the living room hooked up to a b&w zeppelin.

Prior to the Classe, I had the Arcam AV888. Over the past couple of years I've gone through several prepro's. Cary 11a, Anthem D1,D2, AVM30, Arcam av888/avr600, Adcom GTP880, and Lexicon. When I finally got to the Arcam, it was a great home theater processor but wasn't quite there for music.

So far the Classe is amazing both both music and movies.

I have the same problem if I start with my SACD player I get no picture or sound. If I switch to Blu Ray and than back it is fine. I think we have a bug here

Yes, I have loss of audio issues. Mine is with HDMI sources. I will switch to another input then back and the audio will pop in. The only other input that I have setup is a 5.1 analog bypass for SACD.

I don't have anything in 24/192 res. to listen to. Anybody have any suggestions?\\\\I have same problem

I've got about 2", but my cabinet is forced air cooled, so the typical clearances don't apply to me.

2" should be fine for you considering the sides are open.

Thanks. If you don't mind, what are the most obvious improvements you've heard?

Looks outstanding

Thanks much. I'm very happy with how everything has come together.

Tim,

Looks great, it seems we think the same way, I just added the 141...it is my second, I love them. I run my ATV through my Edge video processor, so I haven't had to change the Kuro settings...

Very nice!

I wish I could get a bit more distance between my speakers, but to do so I'd have to jump over the left speaker to get into the room.

My hifi-dealer called me today announcing that the processor-upgrade now was available for free. Fine, though I have a couple of reservations... First I was thinking of being without my beloved ssp-800 for hmm, I don't know how long. Secondly, the nightmare of unplugging some 20 cables or, even worse, getting them back again in their right sockets. And how about the setup procedure - do you have to start from scratch again?
How much better is the new internal decoding compared to player-decoding of the high-def formats?

I would like to use my rearspeakers (in a 7.1 set-up) by using one of the processors post-processing options fx DolbyIIx movie. But ever so often the option is greyed out and thus not available. How come?

change your "favorite processing mode" to DPLIIx Movie instead of discrete on the input.

settings are retained, but you'll want to re-run the levels sequence.

It took Classe a while to fully enable PLIIx in the dual DSP version code. In fact it is only completely working for the first time for external PCM and DTS bitstreams in a beta drop I'm using, released after 2.0/0064. I'm not sure if that was also the case in the single DSP code--that's before my time. Anyway, once the new code is widely released, it will allow PLIIx on top of any 5.1 source, bitstream or PCM.

KC, a boffo system there. And while I'm certain it sounds great, it looks to me like you have the option to raise the C speaker to get the mid/tweet closer aligned with the L/R. Would that not be useful?

Might block the TV for Fido, but he's not paying much attention anyway.

Just my $0.02.

Any Classe SSP-800 owners using Zone Two to utilize the Classe in second room?

Not yet.. I do plan to configure that option this weekend though.

The biggest difference for me was the low level detail, definition and imaging. Dialog has more presence and weight. The Classe is also very open and transparent which is something the Arcam lacked when compared to the Classe.

I can relate this all to the Classe as I'm using the same speakers and amp.

Don't get me wrong, if it wasn't for the SSP800, the Arcam would still be on my rack.

I may follow up to see how it works. I'm contemplating it for the future. Utilizing the Classe in two rooms is an enticing option.

My dealer sent a tech to my house and did the upgrade for me. Nothing to disconnect just have to have access to the top of the 800 to take the cover off. All settings were maintained. It took the tech about an hour including verifying all functions worked.

Is dolby PLXIIx better than Dolby digital EX? I have a 7.1 and when I am getting Dolby tru 5.1 I set it to Dolby digital EX i thought that is the best post processing to use with TRU 5.1

Thanks Roger, I totally agree with you, my issue is the 119" screen drops down and would be blocked if i put it on the Beaver's spot. I would like to put something under either the stand or the speaker itself to get it up a few more inches at least.

I have some bass traps etc. on order, so I plan to tweak things once I get those and install them. thanks for the opinion, appreciate it!

I just noticed something about your Kuro in that pic. The black strips above and below the letterboxed movie image look much too light. They should be as black as the bezel. You might have your color space set incorrectly? Does the black space on letterboxed images look true black in person?
