Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre - Page 136

I have been absent from this thread for a while, so sorry if I am repeating old information.

I recently performed brain surgery on my HTPC, and took the hard drive from 250 gb to 1.5 TB. To do that I cloned the drive.

Everything worked okay after the clone except...Arcsoft TMT.
So I reinstalled it, and got a known bug error.

Tried the new version 3, and found that it does not seem to support HD DVD. After much monkeying around, found a website with updates to version 2. This fixed things, and now the system works OK again.

From my point of view, unless I am missing something, version 3 is actually a downgrade at this time.

Does version 2 work with Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit?).

I am a bit worried about my plan to upgrade to windows 7 given what seems to be going on within my machine.

Thanks all!

Version 3 does indeed support HD-DVD. It is not branded but it does play them.

The latest patch runs on Windows 7.

Playing BD iso with TMT is just fine.
Could it be due to wrong set up?

Could be several problems - for several months after TMT2 was first released I had just the opposite problem - played ripped folders fine, but ISO were jerky and unplayable. Are you trying to play the individual M2TS file or the Blu-ray folder? I tried everything to fix it and finally out of frustration I uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller and then cleaned the registry with CCleaner, then I re-installed and it worked perfectly. Since then I have built another system and done 2 clean installs and 2 of the three times when I loaded TMT2 the first time it did not work properly so I would uninstall, clean and reload - always worked the 2nd time. Now TMT3 I have only loaded once and it worked perfectly

If you have no plan to use the Asus HDAV sound card within MC then there is not much gain over version 2. TMT3 gave me false hope on downmix HD audio to DTS for HDDVD which is not available in any other software player but too bad it is all removed in the patch and don't think arcsoft will spend time to bring it back.

What is considered to be the latest patch for TMT2?

Seems weird that the best way to find the patch is to browse the user forums from Arcsoft....they seem to have pulled the TMT2 patches from the main support area.

TMT2 v.130 is the latest patch.

I'm using version 3 and I see that integrates into MCE, but this integration seems pretty useless because I can't control a damn thing with the MCE remote while watching a Bluray, even though it does work fine in the regular MCE interface. Is this par for the course?

No - I have been using TMT3 for a couple of months within MC and have programmed my Universal remote using a cheap MCE remote and all functions work as expected, FF, REW, Chapter Skip, Pause, Play, Select, Enter, Etc. I previously used TMT2 for a little over a year and the MCE remote worked most of that time - it does seem like there was a period when TMT2 was first released that MCE remote didn't work but you are the first that I have seen mention that it doesn't work with TMT3.

My VMC remote also works with TMT3 without issues.

Hi,

I've noticed that I can't get LPCM 5.1 through Asus version TMT to my AVR..
It's only stereo 2.0

I did a quick search within topic but can't get the correct info.

I'm using Vista SP1 64bit and directly running TMT.

Could you please help me out?

Hm, strange. I am using the following remote: Anyware HA-IR01SV Infrared Certified MCE VISTA Remote Control. Strange that it controls MCE just fine until I click the Blu-ray option, which is of course the TMC software.

So are you using My Movies or Media Browser inside of Media Center to launch the Blu-ray movie or just launching the TMT application from within Media Center? I have always used My Movies - I can't imagine it would make a difference though .

Are you using a soundcard or onboard audio and what type of input/output connection (SPDIF/HDMI)?

It's Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 therefore I'm using Asus version TMT (latest)

I forgot to mention, yes I'm going over HDMI..

Anybody else have version 2 crash when you try to play either Requiem For A Dream or The Quick & The Dead?

OK these are the normal settings that I believe most are using:

TMT3 v.136 set audio to HDMI
ASUS control panel click the HDMI icon and set to 6 channels (for 5.1 system) or 8 channels (for 7.1), PCM 192KHz & 5.1 or 7.1 speakers.
Windows playback default device set to SPDIF (HDAV Digital Passthrough) usually for everything but LPCM which I usually switch windows default playback device to Speakers which then allows windows to decode the audio and should give you 5.1 LPCM. Alternatively, you can switch TMT3 v.136 to I think SPDIF passthrough or something like that - you can play around with these settings while playing the movie to see what works with LPCM. Good Luck

My TMT3 prompted to install a patch today taking the version the 3.0.1.160. It was .140 before I think.

Updates are:

NEW FEATURES:
01. Support Movie Library in Windows 7 Media Center
02. Support upcoming Blu-ray releases

BUG FIXES:

01. Allow playback of some recent FOX discs (Street Fighter, etc) when internet is disabled
02. Add support for latest NVIDIA drivers in SimHD
03. Fix next/previous chapter button support for some remotes
04. Fix crash in Blu-ray navigation (menus) on some discs
05. Fix failure to launch Media Center plug-in on some systems
06. Fix bug where running an update causes the UI to stop working (and logos appear wrong on splash)
07. Fix issue with black video on BDJ discs
08. Improve DVD playback quality
09. Fix audio dropout issue on some discs (Star Trek 3 DVD, etc)
10. Fix playback issue with BD-Live download content
11. Fix Media Center plug-in not appearing in some languages (Dutch/Swedish)

"The latest update for TMT3 (.160) now supports integration with the Windows 7 Movie Library! That means that ripped HDDVD/BD content that appears in the library will launch via the Integrated TMT."

I went back to try again, and it turns out that if I choose the "watch DVD" option from VMC, the remote works fine! But it does has no functionality if I choose specifically the "watch Blu-ray/HD-DVD" function that bears the "Arcsoft" label. Although in either case, I was watching a Blu-ray and launching Arcsoft. Weird bug.

Okay, so I upgraded my HTPC to Win7 today (RTM) and, at the same time I "upgraded" to TMT3. Or, so I thought.

The install seemed to go fine and I rebooted afterwards but it doesn't work at all. Won't launch. Didn't put all the items in my Start Menu (there's one option in there with a blank icon).

So, you say probably, just re-install it, right? Well that would be great but it won't re-install either. The install program says I have to uninstall first. Problem is, there is no ArcSoft or TMT anything in my Programs and Features to uninstall.

What the heck do I do now...?

Do a restore of your system (if you have one) to the state it was prior to upgrading TMT. Then try re-installing and be sure to include any reboots they suggest prior to going on to the next step. Very important.

Go into control panel > Software > uninstall or use revo uninstaller to remove it completely. Reboot, Disable AV, install, reboot
post #4072 of 4430
The problem is "Programs and Features" does not show it. So I can't use that to un-install. Something went horribly wrong even though the install said it worked.

I think I've found the root of the problem, however. It appears that I'm getting a very quick BSOD whenever the machine shuts down or reboots. I'm sure that is what interfered with the proper installation.

Must be some driver somewhere that's not really compatable even though they said they were...

I had that problem also on a new build, last week. I looked in add remove programs and Flash Player 10 was installed, removed it and haven't had a problem.

Problem is flash player is useful for many websites. Without it TMT2 shows a black startup screen. I found a shortcut key to start the right click menu. Just press M for the time being and hopes arcsoft will come up with another patch soon.

I agree flash player is good for many websites. Just got to the system that had the problem. When I had this problem it was with Flash Player 10. Currently have Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX installed without any problems. Maybe it's something with version 10. I'm using TMT3, don't know if that would make a difference.

I just tried Version 9 (9r246) of the adobe flash player and it causes the exact same problem as version 10 does. The newest patch for TMT2 (131) didn't solve anything either.

BTW, thanks for the menu shortcut key. Didn't think about that one before. Still, the original problem remains. One shouldn't need a work around like pressing a shortcut key instead of using the right mouse button, like you normally would.

Anyone having problems playing the new star trek next gen set with TMT 3.

Any suggestions?

I have tried this with Spaceballs, Ghostbusters and Casino Royale all do the same...

Although I did post this a while ago and never followed it up, ive recently installed TMT3 and have the same issue.

If I play a blu-ray maintaining the disc structure either from disc or hard drive I find the the black levels are incorrect and I am getting grey blacks. This is throughout all the menus and the movie.

If I play just the main movie file either directly from disc or from the hard drive the black levels are correct, blacks are black.

I am running Windows 7 32-bit with ATI HD4850 and Catalyst 9.9.

Does anyone else have this issue and a possible solution?
Oh and BTW, I don't really know what caused it but I can't play some of my HD-DVDs anymore. Not even when using AnyDVD-HD, which used to help some time ago.

I'm sure about American Gangster. No way to play it anymore. Used to be like that for some time. Still have to test all the other discs. Strange to say the least.
