I am curious as to how common this problem is. If so post your LCD brand and model number.

Samsung 5271. No dead/stuck pixels, but will trade you one cloud for one dead/stuck pixel.

Olevia 527-S12 27" LCD. It is my computer monitor, and also hooked up to cable and getting some digital channels via QAM Tuner. Very happy with it so far.

My LG 37lb5d has a column of TEAL stuck pixels to the right of it, and they just won't go away, *sigh* as I've expressed in my other thread.

Stuck pixels suck!

My Panasonic TH-42PX60U came out fine. The Olevia 237T I bought on Black Friday had one dead pixel near the center of the screen. Took it back, haven't found any on the replacement set (yet).

Thanks for everyone's responses. It just seems odd to me that, reading some threads here, some people think that you are lucky if you only have a few dead pixels on a new set. Maybe these results are skewed in some way(possibly some people have dead pixels but don't realize it) but there are factors that could influence it the other way as well. Either way, at 75% with no problems at all right now I'm pretty convinced that most sets do not have any problems.

XBR1 - 1 stuck pixel
4669, about 4 stuck green pixels (like the other poster said, not visible from beyond 2 feet), but also two clouds.

Based on all of your experience, will I get a better one (or just more of the same) if I exchange?

-Dell Inspiron 1100 14.1" model has one "sticky" pixel, it will sometimes stick but resumes normal functioning when I touch it w/ my finger.

KDL52XBR4 - One stuck pixel, bright red, right in the letterbox area for movies. Exchanging this weekend in hopes of a flawless set. Not too much to ask, for $3000?

My 42" Vizio VU42LF has none. My first GV52FHD had one stuck blue pixel. Vizio replaced it on-site, no charge, as part of their guarantee.

!!!NEW!!!LCD with DEAD PIXEL!!!NEW!!!
I bought a brand new LCD 46inch Sharp "LC46D92U".
After few days, i noticed that there is a dead pixel (green).
I was beginning to be worry...if it's normal. 1 week later, i noticed again that there is more dead pixels, 2 more (red and blue). Well welll...my LCD is still under the 30DAYS, so i can make an exchange or refund...should I???
I've ask to experts that knows a lot about LCD. Is it posible to find an LCD 46inch 1080p without any dead pixel???VERY RARE...NOT SURE...MAYBEE... The Liquid Crystal panel is a very high technology product with 6,220,800 thin film transistors, giving you fine picture details. Occasionally, or in my case PERMANENTLY a few non-active pixels may appear on the screen as a fixed point of blue, green or red.
Everybody, SHOULD I just go exchange it for another one or it will be much chances the same problem with others 46inch+ LCD(Sharp). Or just simply BAD LUCK with that LCD!!!

Yes yes I am very picky too...especially with some dead pixels on it...
Finally, I did exchange my SHARP LC46D92U...for an other one. Well just cannot imagine that it will be the same with MY 2nd one.
Can someone belive it or not... Here's with My 2nd SHARP LC46D92U with DEAD PIXEL AGAIN!!! Brand New in the box both of them...
My 1st SHARP was with 3 DEAD PIXELS (green, red, blue).
Now with My 2nd SHARP is with 1 DEAD PIXEL (blue), but this is just for the moment (maybee even more later).

I just picked up my sharp 46se94, which was a replacement for a banded d92, and it has one full stuck green pixel as well as about twenty or so pixels that don't seem to block all of the back light. They just look like the light is barely peeking through. Although, the partials are not visible from normal viewing distance.

Consider yourself lucky if you only have dead pixels, they are far less annoying than the always on stuck ones.
