Trying to pull the Trigger

OK Guys,

I finally got my HDTV choices down to two models:

1. Panasonic TH-50PZ700U (Plasma) - 2,298$ (6th Ave)
2. Sony KDL-52W3000 (LCD) - 2,599$ includes BluRay Palyer (Circuit City)

I've looked at both models at the stores (not side by side) and I seem to like the look of the Sony just a tad bit better than the Panny, but everywhere I read, the Panny is one of the best Flat Panels for the money out there....

The room it's going in is fairly bright large room (20 x 24), I will be sitting 12' from the set. The TV will not receive direct sunlight and I am very concerned about playing Standard Definition programing from Fios.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Rob

why not look at the Pioneer 5080? You can get it for about the same cost as the plasma you mentioned.

I just purchased the Pio 5080 and I paid considerably less then the two you mentioned.

It comes in on sunday so I'll let ya know.

Between those 2, I'd go with the Panny. Motion blur is very noticeable to me on most LCD's so that's the main reason. If you're sitting that far away, I'd also suggest looking into getting the 58" version if budget allows.

Well BB came out and installed my Pio 5080 and all I have to say is AMAZING!!!! I haven't even begun to tweak the settings and it looks just incredible.

i think you are really missing out if you don't consider the Pioneer in your selection.
