Problems switching devices

Thread Starter
I recently purchased the Panasonic TH-42PZ700U (I am extremely happy with it by the way). The only thing I don't like about it is that there are only 2 HDMI ports on the back and I have three things I am connecting to it. The problems I am having is that right now I am unplugging my HDMI cable from my cable box, and switching it over to my DVD player when I'm going to watch a movie. It seems to take quite some time for the picture to pop up. The cool thing is when I turn my TV on and it's on the DVD input, the DVD player will turn on too.

I always have the TV off when I switch plugins, but I'm wondering if there's something else I need to do with the HDMI cable......if all of my devices should be unplugged. I don't want to be harming the cable or any of my devices.

I am planning on buying an HDMI hub or switcher for them so I don't have to keep doing it this way.

If anyone has any thoughts I would very much appreciate them. Thanks!

You can use grandbeing 4x2 HDMI switcher:4 HDMI ports in and 2 HDMI out.

Please see below picture, you can use a remote to switch from your 3 or 4 souces,no need unplugging the cable all the time.
