Have ITKOTCK and Red. Last listened to King Crimson probably in the seventies (other than radio), they were a popular band with the friends I hung with back then. These have brought me right back to that time and the songs were very familiar. When we got together loud music, super tweeters, beer and ____, a lot of just listening to great tunes like these were the thing to do. Flashbacks after almost 40 years? Know one told me that would happen....
ITKOTCK was the most recognized for me and finally listening again has been a great! The accompanying CD has been nice to become more familiar with the music again. Listening in the car made me realize the importance of listening levels, with Red especially, louder was better for me.
I have been into surround, SACD, DVD Audio for years, these recordings (awaiting Lizard) are at the top of my list for sound quality, use of surrounds etc. These are 5.1 done right, excellent material. I notice the volume can be increased with less distortion than normal from what be lesser remastering with other material.
Thanks for starting this thread, really hope Steven Wilson continues on this trend and per Decembers "S&V" will give more artists this excellent treatment.
